Ferguson Neverending

Doesn't matter if they ALLEGEDLY robbed a "cigar" store. Due process is now a privilege for the chosen few, huh?

You're a shit cop and a shit human being if you're so scared of another race that you need to execute them first instead apprehending like so many gun-toting mass murderers of another skin tone were lucky to receive.

And tell your "running away" bullshit excuse to Eric Garner. Or Tamir Rice. Or Victor White. Or John Crawford III.

I could go on with names and further examples, but your blatantly trolling with the anti-black sentiment shitstain ass doesn't really give a fuck, does it?

Of course it doesn't. Keep on eyeroll-emoting away, it's your pony's only trick.

Obey the law, and shut your pie hole!

"Ramsey Orta was released from Rikers Island on Friday night and is now with his family, according to his lawyers. Earlier on Friday, the Staten Island district attorney's office canceled Orta's "bond source" hearing after reviewing paperwork submitted by the bail bondsman regarding the crowd-funded bail money. "We were satisfied that it met the requirements of the statute," said Daniel Master, the chief assistant district attorney."

It's been a rough eight months for the man who shot the video of Eric Garner's death. Since Garner was killed by a police officer's chokehold on a Staten Island sidewalk last July, Ramsey Orta, the 23-year-old who filmed the scene, has been arrested twice and has spent the past two months in Rikers Island.

As it turns out, however, two trees at the January-Wabash Park were damaged this weekend, and now two plaques are missing, says activist Tony Rice, who visited the site this morning. The tree featured in the KMOV report that was completely destroyed was dedicated to someone else -- the Michael Brown tree was damaged but still has some leafy green leaves on top.

However, both trees are missing their plaques. Brown's had said simply, "In Memory of Michael Brown Jr. Dedicated tree 4/15."

That shouldn't have happened but, at the same time, there must be millions of persons more deserving of a memorial than Michael Brown. :(

Christopher Columbus, bringer of genocide, colonialism, disease, rape and murder to indigenous peoples in the Americas, has countless memorials dedicated to him on top of having a national holiday in his name.

So fuck you and what you opine Michael Brown doesn't deserve in tribute to his unnecessary murder by a shit cop.

It's just a memorial, not a monument. Vandalizing it is like desecrating Brown's grave. Even an idiot should be able to have a memorial. We see roadside memorials to traffic-accident victims all the time and I daresay a far portion of them died of their own idiocy; it would still be in very bad taste, wouldn't it, to vandalize those memorials?

If you look at the sentence you quoted, you will see it is a compound sentence and the first independent clause was "That shouldn't have happened."

ETA: Memorials to accident victims and other innocent victims are usually strictly temporary, and are soon washed or blown away by the weather. A tree that is planted is expected and intended to be much more long-term than that, as a monument would be.

His death is the latest incident to raise questions about the treatment of minorities by U.S. police and has sparked protests in the largely black city. Six officers have been suspended in the incident, much of which was captured on a surveillance camera and a bystander’s cellphone.

Rawlings-Blake said that when Gray was put into a police van to be transported to a station, he was dragged by officers but was able to use his legs to get in the vehicle.

“So we know that he was able bodied when he was in the van and we know that when he was finally taken out of the van, he was unresponsive,” she said.

“We know that he asked for medical attention. We know that medical attention was not immediately requested for him. We know that was a mistake.”

Arrested for Running While Black! Oh my, and looking a cop in the eye!

Now in Baltimore!

African Americans in Baltimore aim anger at the top

Botsford_baltimore_15_04_22_08261429745171.jpg

In a West Baltimore neighborhood where police chased down an African American man who later died, black residents on Wednesday aimed the brunt of their outrage at the six officers involved in the incident.

But they also expressed anger toward the city’s mayor and police commissioner, whom they accuse of withholding key facts about the case.

That Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Police Commissioner Anthony W. Batts also are black is of no apparent reassurance to an African American community that for generations has viewed the police with unceasing mistrust.

RetroDashCam shows Cop lies and gets away with it.

West Palm Beach attorney Jack Scarola, who is suing on behalf of Stephens, said this week that the dashcam video appeared to contradict claims that Lin gave a command to get down on the ground before shooting.

“There are no records of any commands ever made to Dontrell Stephens,” Scarola said. “The deputy’s recorded statements following the shooting were absolutely false. Internal affairs completely ignored that evidence.”

Sheriff Bradshaw has refused to address the dashcam video, saying that department policy does not allow him to comment on pending lawsuits.

Since the shooting, Stephens has been paralyzed from the waist down. He is now confined to a wheelchair.

Biking while Black is a shooting offense?

I would hope you would have more sense to believe anything a lawyer says on behalf of a client. I don't know anything abut the case, except I know enough to doubt anything a lawyer says. Even in court, they are under no obligation to tell the truth about anything, unless called as witnesses.

ETA: This is something more believable: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/news/man-in-critical-condition-after-shooting-near-have/nZwTb/

Even your link said the injured man was out of range of the dash camera at the time, so how can we know any details?

So you believe the Police, but not the dash-Cam footage?

How about this one?
Video contradicts police claims about black man who died in jail cell after arrest for sagging pants

However, the video directly contradicts the officer’s claims.

The grainy video footage does not clearly show how many times Edwards was shocked, but it shows McMullan kept the stun gun pressed against the inmate’s buttocks in “stun drive” mode for more than a minute.

Edwards stopped moving a short time later and never budged afterward, and the video shows officers left him alone in the cell for about 10 minutes without examining him.

Well?

Well?

Even your link said the people involved were not shown on the footage. The other case has nothing to do with this one.

ETA: I don't always believe the cops, but I NEVER believe the lawyer of a litigant or a defendant. Sometimes they tell the truth, but you can never trust them to do so.

Report: Huge drop in Colorado pot arrests, but racial disparities persist
The legalization of marijuana in Colorado hasn’t solved the racial disparities in enforcement that drug-policy reformers had hoped to end, with blacks still far more likely than whites to be charged with pot-related crimes, a new report says.

The people who live in the Gilmore Homes section of Baltimore, can relate to what happened in Ferguson.

Freddie Gray was attacked by the police near Gilmore Homes.

Once, again, the Department of Justice gets involved, because the death of a citizen cannot be justified.

Same economic model as Ferguson. Balancing the police department budget, on the backs of the poorest neighborhoods.
