And I see now.

The old woman spoke to them again.

Mortal outsider sees truth and in our Lexa mind goes to Doctor. This will take time. I will deal with crew... Lexa... Lexa...

Lexa backed away from him still unsure.

Fine he remains safe. No labs...with that she slithered out

Mortal outsider sees truth and in our Lexa mind goes to Doctor. “Doctor?!?!” he blinked, looking to the old women then back to Lexa as she backed away from him, his face going blank of all emotion, Doctor huh……..well that did explain her reactions and her words, so she’d revealed herself to someone else, or someone else found out and…………………..NO he didn’t want to let his mind go down that route, he’d be in jail before the night was out, assuming Lexa hadn’t killed him already, Fine he remains safe. No labs...... Yup, that sealed it, she’d been hurt alright, and badly, when he got the chance he would make some quiet inquires, he watched her, all graceful elegance as she left the room, her tail twitching furiously, “YOURE STILL FUCKING SEXY AS HELL” he shouted after her, the smile plastered on his face hoping to at least make her smile again, letting his body sag into the chair after he picked it up and set it back where it was he steepled his fingers together, resting his chin on his fingers, thoughts racing through his mind

Now our new resident have questions?

The old woman chuckled as he yelled after her

Now our new resident have questions? Travis roused from his thoughts blinking some as he looked up, looking at his now cold tea cup then back to the old women “umm questions?, no?, yes?, too many maybe, I did some research online so I can hazard a half educated guess, Lamia, if I recall, Ancient Greek demigod or God with a capital G depending on who you worship, “ he sat back, “what happened to her?”

An outsider like you... comes to Miners Row.... She helps him too... beautiful human... they grow close.

She shook her head...

Next thing we know she gone... others hunt smelling pain and fear... find her... almost dead trap in lab... partner go a little... insane... have to reign him in before city leveled

She looked to him

Now Miners Row find difficult to trust outsiders

Travis listened as she explained what happened, his frown only deepening but hey he totally understood, he wasn't shallow, or stupid, her rage had been far to real he knew she'd been hurt, but yea, kidnapped and experimented on, that was the easy conclusion by her explosion "NO EXPERIMENTS" line, he remained quiet for a good long while, and the old women gave him the time he needed to think, "So......." He said, breaking the silence, "How can I help her?" His voice resolute, a decision made, finally blinking as he focused and looked to the old lady "and thank you, for trusting me, and telling me,". Then another thing she'd said registered, "wait, partner?" His mind flashing back to the young looking hothead he wanted to hit "she's Married!?!?" Well that would explain his rage, if he'd slept with his wife? Girlfriend? Partner did have alternative meanings but in what context was this meant to be?

The old woman smiled chuckling watching her s mind racing.

Her business partner child.

She sat back and watched him.

What do you know of late Dr. Lennox. Young stunning looks suits outsider of Miner's Row. They got close but when she made the same mistake as she did with you she nearly ended up as a lab experiment

Her business partner child.. Travis breathed a soft sigh of relief, ok so the guy was her business partner, but that still didn't explain the overt hostility from the guy, it was more Lover's anger then concerned friend, but he took the women's word for it and nodded, letting himself sink back into the chair, damn, it was really comfortable, he would have to ask her about it at a later time when things weren't feeling like a hair trigger away from a him getting lynched. What do you know of late Dr. Lennox. Young, stunning looks, suit, outsider of Miner's Row. They got close but when she made the same mistake as she did with you, she nearly ended up as a lab experiment. "I was a mistake too huh?" He smiled, both amused and a little insulted at her phrasing, wether she meant it or not but he took it in stride. "Personally? I don't know him, he'll the name doesn't ring a bell, quite possible we ran in different social circles, but you using the term "late Dr." Does make me feel better, I wasn't looking forward to the prison time I was looking at for murder" he only half joked. "I honestly...........I like her......once you get past that hard ass exterior of her's, she's......funny......quick.....prickly but intriguing......" He sighed

We will leave it as he was dealt with. I can tell you like her. She feels it a dangerous mistake if someone outside of Miner's Row sees her true self on any level.

She feels it a dangerous mistake if someone outside of Miner's Row sees her true self Travis nodded again, "well, she's fucking gorgeous,........" He trailed off, then blushed, inhaling deeply then exhaling he nodded at the mention of that asshole Dr no longer being of concern, "what can I do? With her I mean, I doubt she even wants to talk to me anymore at this point" pulling his phone out as it beeped, checking the message from his secretary then tucked it away

It will take time I will talk with her but clearly there is something there... After all you went to the shop and made it out alive

The old woman chuckled

It will take time I will talk with her but clearly there is something there... After all you went to the shop and made it out alive. "Praise the gods for small favors" he half joked, his phone beeping again he sighed and looked at it, another message from his secretary he sighed "excuse me" he said politely as he left her office, dialing his office number he barely muttered a hello to his assistant before he was cut off "The trustee board has called a meeting, and has voted no confidence in you with your sudden change of address and direction with your dealings, and have inquired to the board about having you Disbarred, they say you've been "compromised" ". Travis froze at that haughty tone, and he could hear the smug smile in his assistants tone that had him narrowing his eyes "where is the meeting? I'll head there now". The click of the phone hanging up shocked him, with a an almost inhuman snarl slung his phone against the wall, shattering it as he roared "THAT BITCH!" And tore off to his car, peeling out as he slung a UTurn in the middle of the road and headed into town

The old woman seeing that nodded to a server who quickly went to relay the fact that there seemed to be an issue for their newest member of Miner's Row to Lexa and the bikers.

You are going to go help him aren't you?

Her partner raised a brow as the message was delivered but before she could answer the server said

Either way SilverSongbird has ordered it. If her aid is needed as well send for her and she will be there too.

That made everyone take a step back as Lexa headed to her bike.

Have our own retired property man follow me. He has been retired long enough. Looks like we could have new business down here after all.

With that she took off for town as an eagle soon seemed to be following her. SilverSongbird however also placed a call to the Mayor about if anything happened to Travis or his company she might have to come I to town herself.

He squealed to a stop in front of his office, several police cars present as he stormed in, demanding to see the lead officer as he was handed a search warrant. His mood only darkening as his files were rifled through and taken, questions regarding the disappearance of a lawyer from the firm he had been fighting for in Philly. And questions about his most recent dealings with the waterfront and the transfer of city land into private ownership despite the fact it was all done legally and through the proper channels. His laptop and desktop confiscated by the police as well he had to fight to keep from grabbing his secretary as she arrived, sauntering through the office he barely restrained the roar anger as he confronted her, his voice dangerously low as he demanded where the meeting was taking place, she had to have seen something on his face as she trembled, her bravado gone as she told him, then cried as he fired her. His phone ringing he took a look at the number, flipping it open he answered the Mayor’s call. The man’s voice shaking as he began apologizing having only just found out about the meeting. Which had Travis frowning, how the hell did the mayor know about it? Putting that aside for now as the Mayor informed him they were having the meeting at the court house,

As the police demanded to question him he just ignored them and returned to his car. His jaw working he looked around, hearing the roar of a motorcycle he looked, blinking in surprise as Lexa came screaming up to him. “Out for a ride beautiful?” he looked around “at least the suns out”

An older man in a very expensive very old suit pulled up along side coming from Miners Row as well. A darkness to his eyes barely masked their feline appearance if someone was looking close enough. Lexa looked over to the old man.

Here he is and I promise to only scare them till you get there Westlyn. Travis... the old Land legend himself Westlyn Davis. Westlyn... Travis. Time to remind this city why it even exists.

With that she smiled to Travis and took off. The old man clearly in his 90s but still looking like a bear of a man nodded to him.

She saw this town built... one of these days humans may make her burn it to the ground. The deputy director for the police had better remember where he came from before she reminds him. Stubborn foolishness of the young... she is far too old to suffer it lightly. We'll get in and let's go human before we arrive late and find that lunch is over.

Here he is and I promise to only scare them till you get there Westlyn. Travis... the old Land legend himself Westlyn Davis. Westlyn... Travis Travis blinked, his eyes widening, his brows shooting up to his hair line Time to remind this city why it even exists.. Travis had to fight to bury the chuckle of amusement, and shiver of fear that her words provoked as she rode off, and he just watched her, a little stunned at the wink and smile as she vanished down the street, She........had come to help him? Or something else? He was suddenly confused as Westlyn chuckled and clapped him on the back, leading him to his car

She saw this town built... one of these days, humans may make her burn it to the ground. The deputy director for the police had better remember where he came from before she reminds him. Stubborn foolishness of the young... she is far too old to suffer it lightly.. Travis' body jolted and he looked to the man, eyes blinking, again shock crossed his features at what he'd just heard, his shock fading to curiosity as he studied Westlyn, his mouth opening on a question then closing......only to open again but the old man stopped him We'll get in and let's go human before we arrive late and find that lunch is over.. The man referred to him and others as "humans" Travis knew what Lexa was, was he like her too? A....snake? Thing? Shaking his head to snap himself out of his thoughts he could into the mans VERY expensive looking Mercedes, as took off after Lexa, there wasn't much there for small talk as Travis replayed just the last 5 minutes over and over in his head, the question that kept popping up "just how many are there?" The interactions with the bikers, her supposed "business" partner, everyone in minor's row? Were they all like her? Did he really want to know?

The deputy director of the police barely had hung up the warning call before his office door blew open.

Offering a warning I am in town to fix some problems.

Just as quickly she was gone. Back on her bike she drove to his office. His secretary would surrender answers one way or another. Busting into the office any remaining cops refusing to stop her as she snarled at the woman.

You will tell me everything that happened... Now!

Offering a warning I am in town to fix some problems.. Before he could even utter a word she was gone, the officers still in the prescient looking around then peering through the office door as it richochet'd off the wall, "Fuck....." Was all the director said, phoning the mayor

As the remaining officers continued to read through papers and quotes and case files the Secretary was busy cleaning up her desk and answering calls, quickly rising to her feet as she saw her come barging in he huffed in a pique, rising to stand her hands on her hips she glared at Lexa You will tell me everything that happened... Now!. An imperious eyebrow peaked the secretary's face as she drummed her fingers on her hips, a half smirk creasing her lips"I don't have to tell you anything, it's attorney privilege " she stated "and you're trespassing, I suggest you leave before I have you arrested" she stated coolly, that superior smirk plastered to her face "Officers, this women does not belong here, please escort her out I have work to do, " she crossed her arms fully expecting the officers to comply, but as no one moved, her face lost some of its bravado and she looked around, the officers having stopped what they were doing, watching Lexa "Excuse me, or said REMOVE her" she said, nearly stomping her foot in impatient

Lexa grinned as not a single cop moved against her. Her sway over this city was programmed into their brains during the academy and they all knew if she was in the modern part of town somewhere someone had he'll to pay

Their presence is for your safety if you don't answer me now.

There was almost a hypnotic command to her voice

Their presence is for your safety if you don't answer me now.. The secretary's eyes widened slightly as she swallowed, her slowly panicking gaze darting around, searching for anyone that would step in and deal with Lexa, but as she looked back to the raging women her eyes seemed to gloss over as the hypnotic tone and stare caught her, a shiver passing through her body "I.....I....I was placed here, to feed information to a group out of Pennsylvania, with connections to an Italian group in jersey, they've been watching Travis and his dealings for the last 3 years, you....you caught their attention" she said, hesitating before lexa's hypnotic suggestion washed over her again as she made a "keep going" gesture with her hand "they found out you and Travis have been together, and that any chance they may have had to acquire the waterfront and docks they wanted is gone now that he gave it to you, so they spread false paper trails around, and filed greviences that working with you has "compromised" him and that the law firm from Philly that suddenly dropped their claim on the orphanage had one of its three controlling partner's suddenly vanish allowing the deal to go to Travis, they wanted the docks for their "operations" and Travis wasn't aware of any of it, "

She looked to the cops who were quickly writing down what she said. Lexa turned back to her.

You will write all of that down. With names and addresses and sign it as your sworn statement to these officers and you just might survive this fiasco in one piece. Now where is the meeting?

The oldest of the cops saw how controlled Lexa was being and smiled thankfully to her

You will write all of that down. With names and addresses and sign it as your sworn statement to these officers, Now where is the meeting?. As the lead detective retread what he had heard and written on his note pad he looked up, a deep frown marring his face and he looked to Lexa "Ever think about becoming an interrogator? Damn.. We could use you" he chuckled as he made hand motions to his deputies to start packing things up, the secretaries still glassy eye'd gaze watching Lexa Club 86, back conference room, one of the Italians is in town, I don't know why, something about fixing a problem, that's all I know". She began to blink quickly then shook her head as if coming out of a trance. "Are you still here???? I said leave!!! HEY, what are you doing?" She screeched as one of the officer's began cuffing her and reading her her right's

One of the cops looked at Lexa with a hushed chuckle.

The mayor heard everything...

She just smiled and walked out to her bike and calling Westlyn.

You boys take care of the official meeting but do tell Songbird The Italians are trying to be stupid again. Maybe one of them will recognize me and grow a quick braincell or two.

Telling him where she will be and hanging up he placed two calls from his limo. One to get them a copy of the signed statement and one to have backup ready in case Lexa needed it. Both legal with the police and a less legal "police" Native races and the bikers

The mayor sat back in his chair, his shoulders slumping as he hung up the phone, the mole he’d placed had been found, damn Lexa. And damn that fucking lawyer, this was suppose to be an easy deal, He steepled his fingers together, rocking idly before he picked up the phone and dialed, when the phone was answered he muttered “That lawyer is on his way to the meeting, he’s been made aware of whats been going on behind his back, and he wont be alone, his secretary has been detained on conspiracy charges,” he listened and nodded then an argument ensued as he traded insults and threats with the other person over the phone, finally muttering “Forget it, this has gone too far, im out, its your mess you clean it the fuck up, I was never involved” before he slammed the phone down, then cursed again punching his desk.

Travis listened as Westlyn was told what was going on, shock at what he was just told had him slumping back in his seat, his secretary was helping to undermine him? He was being used for some unknown ploy? He just blinked, this was just one too many shocks for him to deal with as he stared out the window, watching the city pass by as they headed to the meeting location

Lexa was not hiding anything strength nor ability even in human form as she nearly ripped the doors off the club. It was far too early for patrons so no worries there. Her eyes almost demonic as she stalked towards the first idiot who thought to block her path. He was a kid so held no idea who she was even after she had his back bent so far over the bar as she hissed.

Three more pounds of pressure on your spine from that bar and you get a wheelchair sticker for the rest of your life... Now for some worse news. The way I am holding your neck and shoulder I have to apply 6 more pounds of pressure to break it... Which if you don't tell me what I want to know I will and if you have any understanding of math you spine will go before your neck and shoulder. Where is the meeting.

The bartender an old man who had been involved the first time which had to have been around this young woman's grandparents time somehow knew he was looking at a ghost. Either this girl was her grandmother's identical twin or... No... Not a chance... Or was there?

No...

Westlyn replied to another call.

Let's not involve him in knowing my plans right now... I have never fully trusted that family line. Lexa being in town hunting will be enough concern for him especially with the members of the old Miner's Row families in key places in the city government and structure.

Westlyn smiled tapping to get the drivers attention.

Any word from our associate?

Hawk says Psycho is impressively well contained sir. And she has entered the club... Let the ghost stories commence
