The Last Thing You Thought...

Today was a bad day.

He was 93. And a WWII vet.

His nurse tonight was also a vet. After he passed, the nurse asked if we'd mind if he put a little flag in his hand. We didn't, of course. Before he left the room, he saluted him. One of the most sincere acts of respect I've ever seen from one stranger to another. Utterly beautiful, and completely devastating.

The world is a lesser place today.

There is a quote that I love, it is attributed to a native American proverb, but I'm not sure of the source.

When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced.
Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.

It sure sounds like he lived that kind of life. My thoughts and sincerest condolences are with you, SB. :rose:

I haven't heard that before.. I like it. :)

Thanks, Thyri. It's sweet of you.

Just because I dont feel good doesnt mean I dont want to fuck you till you cry.

I've been shrunk to inches tall and now I'm being left amongst my belongings... my day is about as bizarre as it gets.
