2013 Poem a week comment thread

Reading it with that simmering AV next to it.......yikes!

I have been thinking about how to write erotism into something that on the surface seems neutral.

ETA: Anthony Bourdain is on tv talking about tentacle porn. Life is full of syncronicity!

Who moved my post from the challenge thread? I feel singled out and slightly pissed. :(

what's gone missing, harry?
..
Post 257 this thread was originally posted to the challenge thread. if mine is removed then all other in challenge comments to the thread should be removed also.... So singled out.

you posted a comment in the challenge thread and it's been removed? probably just a case of a mod tidying up and others will go if reported/noticed. i don't believe it's anything personal. if there are quite a few other comments there that really shouldn't be, contact one of the mods? :rose:

having looked, there are quite a few comments there, including ones of mine - i've edited a few out, but don't understand why yours was removed. chill, harry, just ask for clarification.

Harry I moved your post earlier today. I wasn't trying to single anyone out: I just noticed a non-poem post in the poem-a-week thread so I moved it here. I don't always catch such posts, but when I do I try to move them to the right places. But to go back searching for posts that I or the other mods may have missed because one person feels singled out--that seems like unnecessary work, especially given that there was nothing untoward meant in moving your post to this thread in the first place.

Liked it Angeline enjoying the thought of duality in it. where you tipsy when you wrote it? *extends olive branch* a laurel for your sonnet. well done.

Thank you Harry for the comment and the olive branch. :rose:

Not tipsy lol but I've been reading a lot about Surrealist poetry of late and trying to find a balance between nonsense and meaning. I am not sure I succeeded in the sonnet hence the "wasted" in the title.

Those Surrealists were an interesting group. I was just telling Todski that his Frankenpoem, where no one knows what lines others contribute till the poem is done, is actually a form called the "exquisite corpse," which some Surrealist poets invented in the 1930s as a sort of poets' parlor game.

Thanks, butters. This far into the weekly challenge, I'm getting a bit slap-happy.

I love your poem. It's a surreal dream (or maybe nightmare). That centipede thingy from The Tingler scared the bejeebers out of me when I was a kid. And yes, I had a "tingling" theater seat. Yikes!

I also love Tzara's sonnet and Tess's shape poem. Really good stuff in there these past few days.

angie and tzara's latests both are wonderful reads, but gm's - posted today - that's the kind of poetry that takes my breath away and makes me put down my pen. gm, you ever get yourself a book printed, i want it. i really do.

Thanks, butters. While I may attempt a chapbook contest or two, I'm at peace knowing my audience is limited to pretty much here, a son, daughter, and wife. I'll be sure to remove the few erotic ones from the leafs I bequeath to the siblings but be sure to include them with those I leave to my younger, sexy wife who probably will still look "hot" when she's 90, long after I'm gone. (I can write that here under the cloak of anonymity. LOL)
