Me and the kids have been listening to our Christmas playlist a bunch lately. They usually start in on me the day after Halloween to start listening, but I try to make them wait until Thanksgiving.

We have a little bit of everything on it! Most is the stuff I grew up listening to, Elvis, Gene Autry, Eartha Kitt has to sing Santa Baby! I always tell my kids Evis does the best Christmas music. It's not Christmas until I hear Elvis sing Blue Christmas.
We also have newer bands, Flaming Lips, Blink 182, Pearl Jam and Bright Eyes, on our playlist too.
Our playlist is currently 98 songs and lasts 4 hours and 19 minutes!

Just a suggestion: "A Twisted Christnas" by Twisted Sister. Helps me get into the swing of things pretty nicely. Also, for somethibg a little different, try "To Drive the Cold Winter Away" by Loreena McKennitt. A more festive voice is hard to find.

And once you're fed up with all the jingle bells and sleigh rides, toss in "No Presents for Christmas" by King Diamond for some serious guitar shredding and screams higher than Loreena's impressive range

Metallica - ...and Justice for All

The last decent Metallica record. Everything past this goes from "tolerable" (Black Album) to "WTF, guys?" Also, its shocking that Lars Ulrich got worse with every subsequent outing. His constant "one, two, three, four" on the cynbals on pretty much every song of "Hardwired..." is annoying as all hell.

Yes Twisted Sister has been one of my son's favorites since he was like 5. He even wanted to be Dee Snider for Halloween one year!

I'll have to try the other ones. Thanks!

Way to go misquoting me. I said Lars Ulrich's counting on the cynbals is annoying as all hell. That aside, "Hardwired..." is ok. MUCH better than St. Anger anyways. But compared to some of their contemporaries like Overkill or Testament who have recently released some kick-ass records, Metallica sound terribly confused. Also, they need a new drummer. Lars Ulrich is the living antithesis of "practice makes perfect". He gets worse as he gets older. Compare "Dyer's Eve" off "...Justice" with anything off the recent albums and you'll see what I mean.

I have personally come to appreciate a lot of bands that cover Metallica songs and enjoy their song interpretation and style over Metallica's original version. The Metal Militia comp album with Swedish bands doing Metallica songs comes to mind, but Motörhead and KMFDM are noteworthy as well in their own right😎👠👠👠Kant💋

I agree. I have several of their albums and they're all different. Memoirs might be my favorite.
