Justice League: The New Wave (OOC - Interest Check)

Hm...that fight is taking place passed Hiro's bedtime. I imagine Hiro sleeping through it lol.

How widespread is the fire? Can Rose approach to assist on the fringes without getting singed?

Wandered out of the bedroom made a sandwich and turned the tv on? couldn't sleep.?

Hey, Varshanka.

I would love to do a bit later on where Rose/M'gann goes to Mars in search of her "past life," and finds a football in Ma'aleca'andran orbit, just apropos of nothing, no explanation, "how did that get there?"

Might be a fun little payoff to your imagery there.

"Life On Mars?"
by David Bowie.

It's a god-awful small affair
To the girl with the mousy hair
But her mummy is yelling "No"
And her daddy has told her to go
But her friend is nowhere to be seen
Now she walks
through her sunken dream
To the seat with the clearest view
And she's hooked to the silver screen
But the film is a saddening bore
For she's lived it
ten times or more
She could spit in the eyes of fools
As they ask her to focus on

Sailors fighting in the dance hall
Oh man!
Look at those cavemen go
It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the Lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man! Wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show
Is there life on Mars?

It's on Amerika's tortured brow
That Mickey Mouse
has grown up a cow
Now the workers
have struck for fame
'Cause Lennon's on sale again
See the mice in their million hordes
From Ibeza to the Norfolk Broads
Rule Britannia is out of bounds
To my mother, my dog, and clowns
But the film is a saddening bore
'Cause I wrote it
ten times or more
It's about to be writ again
As I ask you to focus on

Beating up the wrong guy

Hey, Nubian?

Are there places where Rose can help where she's far enough from the fire that she won't lose her powers?

Some of the skyscrapers are on fire, other than that it's just contained to the immediate block raidus, I wouldn't say the whole society is on fire, but if left unchecked it might look that way.

Okay, awesome.

Now, is Metropolis somewhere on the East Coast in this reality, or is it in Kansas?

My favorite configuration is for Metropolis, New York City, and Gotham City to be side-by-side north-to-south down the same patch of Eastern Seaboard. Perennially, I've used the joke that New York and Metropolis are referred to as sister cities, and that Gotham is "The Ugly Stepsister."

But of course, wherever it is in the country, Rose should be able to fly there from New York with some degree of rapidity.

I kept it vague where New York was relative to Metropolis.

But it might be good to figure that out at some point.

I'm going to get my owed post out tomorrow. I try to get as many posts as I can out before my friend comes over because when he comes over it is impossible for me to write. But I have a lot of freedom after work to catch up on this site, so I thank you for being patient with my slowness.

That was a really good post!

He got a Speed Force suit!

...oh, but now there's fire in the sky...

Heh.

Well, we're a super-team just starting out. Nothing writ says it ain't gonna be a rocky ride!

It's okay, though, I think Rose can make it into the Centennial Park reservoir from here!

"Into the Fire,"
by Thirteen Senses.

Come on, come on
Put your hands into the fire
Explain, explain
As I turn, I meet the power

This time, this time
Turning white and senses dying
Pull up, pull up
From one extreme to another

From the summer to the spring
From the mountain to the air
From samaritan to sin
And it's waiting on the air

Come on, come on
Put your hands into the fire
Explain, explain
As I turn, I meet the power

This time, this time
Turning white and senses dying
Pull up, pull up
From one extreme to another

From the summer to the spring
From the mountain to the air
From samaritan to sin
And it's waiting on the air

Now I'm low, I'm looking out, I'm looking in
Way down, the lights are dimmer
Now I'm low, I'm looking out, I'm looking in
Way down, the lights are dimmer

Come on, come on
Put your hands into the fire
Come on, come on
