Group Uggg

Hello real poets,

I am by no accounts a poet. I'm just Uggg but over the weekend some nonsense fell out of my silly little head and I needed somewhere to put it. Please forgive me for leaving my mess in your domain.

If you're going to hit me please avoid the smile, it's a mask that took me some effort to construct.

I will ask some of my friends to stop by later and bury my dribble in a wealth of more worthy words.

Summer Tree

Swollen rivers flow with black waters that wash away all in their path.

Solar storms radiate out through space feeding ravenous entropy.

My words, my ideas flow and radiate but what are they to those grand scales?

Can we compare when our words are just shadows in sound?

If that must be, then let them be...

Tamed shadows in the dappled sunlight under the summer tree.

For the wicked there is no rest

The butterfly flutter

And the sensual touch of a wasp’s sting

With nipple kisses and warm butter

The insect will eat just about anything

Skin like bark and the hair of a berry

Segmented body on the centipede fairy

The swarm knows what’s best

For the wicked there is no rest

Hiya Under your Spell,

Thanks for the welcome. I have been having a wee nosy at some of the poems here for a few weeks without contributing anything.

If I ever manage to string together any words that I think actually worthy then I may seek a friendly (but constructive) critique, but these are just some scratched together ideas that I used to get the ball rolling on this thread, not really worthy of serious consideration.

I have played around a bit in some Haiku and limerick threads and wanted somewhere to play with a broader scope. This it it.

I have some friends and acquaintances from those threads who I hope will visit me here too.

You're welcome to visit me here anytime. I've seen your words around about.
(I know you're a moderator for this forum as well. Don't worry I play nice. There will be no need for smacks here! We'll just do it for fun.)

Lots of love,

Uggg

We rarely smack here or if needed only lightly, I may bite occasionally but that's a different matter

Uggg’s friendly invitation brought me here,
Lit’s crannies hold a place I’ve not explored,
My mind responded quickly: “Hold my beer!”,
“With all these poems, who could e’er be bored?”

The days go by so fast
when you have a companion by your side
I want those days to last
To forever have someone to confide

I believe I have this
In my real life and online
Which causes me such bliss
Who would have thought they'd entwine

Here's something nasty I found in my closet.

*wrinkles nose*

Pepper spray
Taken to Bangkok,
All for a little bang bang cock.
Family trusted and a heart broken,
Broken in bang Bangkok.
Red light.
Don’t fight.
Do it right.
Doing the bang bang cock.
Making a living in bed.
That’s destroyed in a bed,
Giving head.
Destroyed in the head.
Innocence choked, sold and lost in Bankok,
For a pretty little bang bang cock!

I said what I had to say
I let it all out
It was done in an eloquent way
I'm glad I didn't copout

I follow my intuition
It leads me to see what's right
As long as I listen with
A calm and wise sight

Abandonment can hurt
Especially when its your family
But love gives you comfort
To be strong and free

One more, its good for expression...

He left me years ago,
before my kids were here
Through my life I wanted to know
What was it he did fear.

For 30 years I haven't seen him
I shall see him by invite
What do i say? Do I look grim?
Or do I hug and reunite

He can't remember now
But only his past
so how do I allow
forgiveness to last

I always have love in my heart
and I will this time, I'm glad
for the person I am seeing
since I was young, is my dad.

Do take a look at the current Challenge on Poetry Feedback and Discussion, as it is Rhyming couplets and Anagrams., as we don't usually have many rhyming poems here and certainly not in Challenges unless it's a specific Rhyming form.

Ya I figured it was real, had the ring of truth to it. Good luck. I hope the meeting leaves you feeling lighter and less burdened. some burdens we carry for so long we forget they are there.

Tell me about it, its like it really dawned on me that I am going to see him! I forgave him long ago as but this may be the last time I see him, he has Alzheimers now so I hope he can still remember me. I'm taking my daughter to meet him for the first time so its a good thing.

Best of luck my friend.
Love deeper than memory,
No illness takes it.

I know you enough,
To know you are amazing,
He must know this too.

What man doesn't love,
The first time he meets the child,
of his own lost child.

No thread I made for poetry would be complete without a few words from the most inspiring poet ever.

He's long dead but I owe him a debt. Among many many wonderful words he said these in the 'Rime of the ancient mariner'( In my opinion the greatest poem ever written):

“The many men, so beautiful!
And they all dead did lie:
And a thousand thousand slimy things
Lived on; and so did I.”

“Her lips were red, her looks were free,
Her locks were yellow as gold:
Her skin was white as leprosy,
The Nightmare Life-in-Death was she,
Who thicks man's blood with cold.”

"He prayeth well, who loveth well
Both man and bird and beast.

He prayeth best, who loveth best
All things both great and small;
For the dear God who loveth us,
He made and loveth all.”

So if anyone asks who my favorite poet is tell them Samuel Taylor Coleridge. He wins hands down.

poetry is a road I have not walked
Many years its been for me
Once it was a release for me
A way to set it all free.

I'm not sure if its a road I can walk again
But maybe someday my voice I will share
Just maybe words will come to me
Maybe I can finally dare.

For now I have stopped by to say hello
Not to share my thoughts sad,
So hello is what I offer
From your friend Glad

I'm not feeling particularly poetic right now, but they say a picture is worth a thousand words.

I heard (from someone... ) that Uggg's cat is a real dom...
