Donald Harrison, Jr.

Did you know he once played sax for Sly and the Family Stone?
I've seen him perform several times

Sienna - in a nostalgic mood for some early rock n' roll - songs and/or groups that had significant influence on those yet to come . . .

Going to send you searching into the old archives:

1956 - The Five Satins - "In the Still of the Night"
1957 - The Everly Brothers - "Wake Up Little Susie"
1964 - The Drifters - "Under the Boardwalk"
1965 - The Righteous Brothers - "You've Lost That Loving Feeling"

As always, love what you do here.

Oh, those do go back a ways.
A lot of Buddy Holly never would make it to fruition.
Gone too young.

BTW, two pieces of music trivia.

"You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" (one of my faves) was produced by Phil Spector.

"It's Now or Never" is a remade version of the song "O, Solo Mio" with different lyrics. Listen to it again and the tempo.

Sienna - thank you . . . you expanded my request and cajun's . . . a fine trip back into the past of rock n' roll . . . and a nice trip down memory lane. :)

And Brett, always enjoy the trivia inputs from a retired DJ !

You're welcome Investor - oddly, one of the very first bookings I played, I happened to play "It's Now or Never" and after a few minutes, recognized the melody. There are a few Latin dances you can do to it.

As for Phil Spector - it's awful that such a talent is also a depraved and sick individual. His music contributions are legendary, but read his ex-wife's account of life with him. Sick.

Luckily, he won't be seeing the light of day for a long, long time.
