i hope there are wonderful & lasting memories of this family member for you all.
Because we live 2 1/2 hours from my husband's family, I didn't get to know her all that well. But she was very kind to me, and I know that she treated my husband and his brothers like the sons she never had.

And she lived long enough to see a couple of her great-great grandchildren. How cool is that? :)

that's fantastic. sounds like she had a full and satisfying life. we should all have that good fortune.

Quoll, I will keep your family in my thoughts.

Eilan, I am sorry for your family's loss.

Short version, I'm heading off to bed.
My wife had a show of blood, which at 29 weeks is not good, so we made a dash to the local doc, (ours is away, ) he sends us onto the hospital for an ultrasound, drop the kids off with my sis on the way. Wait there for over an hour for him to show up, his diagnosis is that her membrane has ruptured, which will mean a three hour trip to Melbourne for specialist preterm care, plus hospitalisation for up to a month if she doesn't deliver, but first he sends us to the larger hospital in the next town, which gives us plenty of time to come to grips with the reality of our situation, not to mention what to do about the kids, my job, (I work nights) etc etc.
After arriving at the next hospital the midwife there asks a few simple questions, the main one being what was the docs impression after doing the internal, "What internal"?
Anyway she calls in the ob-gyn and he does an internal, cervix is closed and the mucus plug is intact, his apparently correct diagnosis, is a small placental bleed, not uncommon given my wifes pre-existing conditions, still something to be cautious about but not as drastic as we were first led to believe, she has been allowed home providing she takes it easy.
So yeah, I'm pissed at the first doc for basically palming us off onto the other hospital without doing a thorough exam and I'm still trying to sort out all the emotions we were hit with because of it.
Lucky this s the short version huh.
Night all.

Wow. I'm so glad the news wasn't nearly as grim as you first thought. Tons of positive thoughts coming your way. :rose:

Eilan, I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope both of your memories of her are beautiful ones.

Please keep us in your thoughts, Possy has had more bleeding overnight so we are off to the hospital once again, if nothing else we are a bit calmer and somewhat more prepared today.

Pork is good. Haven't had it in a while either.

Eilan - :rose: to you and your family for your loss.

Quoll - sending good thoughts your way for a de-stressed mrs q and some quiet weeks ahead before all the real fun begins. my DIL delivered my grandson at 32 weeks - you'd never know it now to look at the guy.... he could be a linebacker!

The best gyros are made from a combination of lamb and beef (Alton Brown's home-made version notwithstanding).
