Okay PL, good to know you're an SR fan
SR has edited for people on Lit and he has said that many times. However, he isn't a VE.

As PL said, there is a difference between an editor with professional training and someone without.

So maybe you should find something else to vent about.

I see the SR lovers are rallying the wagons. That's okay. Just had to say what I said. I'll go away again... maybe.

SR, are you feeling the love? Or should I be feeling the hatred of other editors?

I always wanted to do good here. This was what was in my heart. But that's okay, Lit can do with one less editor and writer.

He doesn't have to edit if he doesn't want to. None of us do, professional or not. He may not have time, and he may not have the desire. So what? I haven't edited in a while because I don't have the time. If you think that means I think I'm "too good for the site," then fine, think that.

And I'm not an "SR fan." I just think if you're going to vent, do it based on facts. You don't like him, fine. Doesn't mean the rest of us have to go along.

Not only might he be too busy. He might simply not want to edit for YOU. Nobody HAS to do anything for anybody. Most people who edit after seeing this will likely avoid you. You'd probably flame them if you disagreed with the edit.

You have no idea what this discussion is about. I do my own editing, by the way. SR is the last person I would want to edit my writing, this is not the point, which you have missed entirely.

Sorry

I apologize to all. My conduct has been unbecoming for a retired military member who has higher standards than I have shown here. I also apologize to SR71, who has made a conscious decision not to add to the verbal fray, and to the others who have commented.

I will continue to disagree with SR. I think he's full of himself and demeaning to those who do find the time to edit.

Enough said. Now I'll go away for a while.

Sorry. What was that little blurt to Roden about? Seems you already know your potential without help.

SR is an icon here at Lit. I have a few qualms about his style is all. He's a talent when it comes to editing, there's no doubt. But he knows it. And it shows in his attitude towards those who are untrained to edit yet who try our best to help out other writers.

So I have a problem with him, which I have made known. This is all. Rodent came after me as if I was a jilted writer, which I am not. He simply did not comprehend the enormity of the situation, which is long-standing and not a simple post.

Enough said.
