On this Thanksgiving...
I am grateful~

for my writing partner, friend and lover, MrTenant

for friends and family
who sustain me

for more than enough
when so many go without

and, for all of you, dear readers,
who have come along with us
sharing poems, laughs,
hugs and compasses
and perchance joined us
on our tale of
romance and adventure

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!

The counters are sticky with cinnamon sugar
Smears of geasey turkey bits
And Christmas cookie crumbs
Momma Mia is on the TV
"How can I forget ya?"
As mobs of people prance across the screen

Content dog at my feet
Knitting in my lap
The dishes will keep
As we share a laugh
The kids are all right
Everything is gonna be all right.
There is enough love in this house
Enough of everything really

Light a candle
Say a prayer
Sleep now.

How can I forget ya?
Hold me close enough there is no room
For memories to hide.
Safe and warm
Where we live in the now.

Turn me round again.
Kiss me once again
How can i forget ya?

Never will I forget you.
You are embossed on my soul
Kiss me again darling...

Good night.

Gratitude

Thank you friend for keeping me company all through these years and hardships.

I thank the muses, the gods that put poetry
into my fingertips to tell you how I feel
when I love you isn't enough.
In this world and the next and ever after
it will always be you. My Master, my Lord.
Submission at your feet, as equal by your side,
tucked warm against your shoulder,
all my places but most of all, the only place
that matters, will ever matter.
Safely in your heart.

Gratitude As Love

Yesterday was easy to enjoy
with its good friends, food, moments
of reminiscence that elevate
the day from a length of time
to a span of years within a memoire.

You know how thankful I am
for you I hope. Since I can't
imagine these moments together
don't lead your heart to the same
ache and heat I feel in my chest.

You possess my thoughts, freely
given over to you:
your smile and eyes crinkling,
your skin and the scent it carries,
your kisses and caresses,
that all populate my clear thinking
and crowd out self control

Gratitude wears many faces.
Today it looks like love.

somehow like outlander
i have traveled back
candlelight and handwork
funny clothes
too many under things
chemise and chemisette
corset and petticoats

moon rises over the pallisade
canvas tents fill the meadow
I smile in happiness
these rustic folk
dressed in shepherds check
and leather leggings
have welcoming me
into this idiosyncratic
Hudson bay fort family
how blessed am I?
