Thank you, Sam.
There are times when I feel slightly nervous on my local city roads.

Or revisit them on Highway 61 - as Bob Dylan suggested.

A geography lesson in a song: Wonderful.
I don't think it would work with a road like the English motorway M1.
It might work from Cairo to Cape Town though. . . .

Long, long ago, when I was in 4th grade in Brooklyn, The Lincoln Highway - Route 66, was the organizing theme of our Social Studies class. We started in New York in September, reached Chicago in time for Christmas Break, and then ended in Santa Monica in June. As we "drove" through each State, we learned its geography, politics, history, and economy. It was a good start for learning about the country.

I remember my teacher (I was 8) teaching up map reading by plotting a bombing raid on Berlin and similar.

I went on a course in the early 1960s on Materials Handling at a depot in rural Wales. We stayed in a public house and could use the bar 24/7. Our instructor had just returned to Wales after 9 years abroad.

We learned about the peculiarity of Welsh beers as we drove from pub to pub every evening. Wales was dry on Sundays, but not as residents in a pub.

Materials Handling course? I can't remember what we were taught. Welsh beers? Some of them, then, were evil tasting and worse in their after effects. But some were nectar of the gods.

“The inimitable stories of Tong-King never have any real ending, and this one, being in his most elevated style, has even less end than most of them. But the whole narrative is permeated with the odour of joss-sticks and honourable high-mindedness, and the two characters are both of noble birth.”

The fine line between truth and fiction lies in whether you are reading it or living it.

It's also a fine line when listening to the excuses issued by a 15 year-old cadet.
They get more creative at 16.

Win 10 was installed automatically by an "upgrade" from 7, so I have no method of getting anything back, short of installing Win 7 on it (I sure as hell ain't goin' to buy a replacement copy).
