Many doctors seem to have an amazing pain ability to withstand pain--so long as it's someone else's. I hope your is better. Best of luck with your appointment.

Hey boys and girls....just remember that every day above ground is a good day. I have plenty of health gripes and won't bore everyone with them. Why would I? I don't come here to vent my health issues. I could write a book. Look at it as if the cup is half full!

JJ, it's nice to meet you. However, you have misinterpreted what you see (or have read). LadyC will rattle sabers to challenge those she feels threatens those who enter these forums, but she does not (has never) claimed "woe is me".

Quite to the contrary. LadyC is a very special woman that will help all others above herself in complete disregard for herself.

"Lit" and "LadyC" are one in the same as far as I am concerned. I would be hard-pressed to separate one from the other. That's why we care so much about her well-being. We pry the information from her, often against her will. She's not whining, complaining, or anything else, but rather alleviating the concern of those that LOVE HER!

I see that you are new. Contribute to this community and I'm sure you'll quickly learn the same.

No ill will intended. I saw some with problems and was trying to speak to my philosophy as it relates to self help and self preservation. Based on your message, it looks to me as though I think along many of the sama lines she does. I will be duly cautious in the future, but again, no harm intended. I just care......for all people and with especially due respect for those who have been around here a long time. LadyC has earned my respect and I wish well for her as well as all others here.

Jimmy: Don't let AS scare you. He's one of the most loyal men and friend there is here on Lit. He's jumped to my defense countless times and I thank him each and every time. Your philosophy wasn't lost on me; I simply didn't have the strength to reply before today.

If there's one advice I can give you is, don't ever hesitate to speak your mind. I don't hate people because they tell me I'm wrong or I'm complaining, I hate people who aren't consistent or hypocrite; two things you don't seem to be. And even then hate is a strong word, it's just that my mind is addled with pain medicine and the vocabulary escapes me at the moment.:(

Thank you. I didn't really think that there was anything untoward in my original post. It was just an optomistic guy sharing his optomism and hoping that others might gain from giving it a try. I have 3 incurable illnesses, and know of many who have similar issues. A positive frame of mind works wonders for me and many others that I know.

Geez, been admiring the size of your... posts. You've been here several years less than me yet have easily tripled my number.

It's all good. Been trying to be a more hands-on editor to help the growing number of authors find help. Been writing less as a result, but my urge to write ebbs and flows like the waves on a beach.

To be honest, I think my earlier works were better. Very proud of my CSI stories that I spent so much time researching to keep true to the characters. Now I just write "stroke" stories for the most part. I tried to go back to finish some of the earlier series and don't think I'm a good enough writer to do them service.

I've gotten lazy or lost the spark or something, not really sure what the story is with me. But I do cherish the comments some of my better works have generated and once in a blue moon revisit them in a hope of regenerating that lost spark.

Maybe more awaits in my future, or perhaps I've peaked and am tapering down. The future will tell.

Okay, been retrospective enough, time to watch the opening games of 8/8/08!
 
I am frustrated; about a lot of things. it must be a defining feature of me. I LOVE anal sex, but my wife won't give up her ass. I LOVE big breasts, but my wife has small breasts. I love 69, and dirty, hot sex but my wife doesn't like anything uncomfortable.

I hate the city I live in, but the economy is going south in most of the U.S. and my industry is still strong in this town. I hate the direction the U.S. is moving; politics is a joke- a game show for the masses. The President and congress are all liars, puppets of big business and banks. This war is a travesty; innocent lives lost or destroyed at the hands of rich assholes.

I am so disappointed to grow up and realize how many ignorant people must be in this country to NOT see the truth behind the war, the global warming hoax (that should get a good hundred hateful comments), the polluting of our water supply for Christ's sake, with Fluoride and other toxins.

Plus, I submitted a erotic story to an editor who took two weeks to finally write me back and say: 'I wont be able to edit this after all,' for whatever reason.

Sucks.

I hope not. It was very disappointing. But she was the 4th editor I had contacted from the Forum. The other 3, I took from the long list, didn't even respond to my requests.

I suppose I'll have to start a thread when looking for an active editor. I've submitted my story without an editor, out of frustration. If I get denied...anyone up for the position? :)

I agree about the politics of my native land, and the global warming bullshit. And the vast majority of our citizens are content to be ignorant and give up all decision making and control to whomever passes by

I'm posing this question here because, honest-to-goodness, I have no idea where to post my writing question. It seems that the Author's Hangout is 90% political and 10% goofing off, the general board is 99% political, the story board seems to be about either guided discussion pertaining to a particular story that is queued or general questions and the editor's place seems to be only about trying to find an editor or editors chatting to each other. Where do people, other than in general terms or guided, talk about any specific issues they might be having? Or is this completely inappropriate to this forum?

I have a paragraph and a sentence, in particular, that I am having trouble with. I know what I mean to say, but don't like how it's coming off. I've raided the thesaurus, I've pondered it, changed it and some back mulitiple times, so I would love some suggestions and feedback. I don't want the first comment to be about how I posted in the wrong place!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not the wrong place at all! I'd actually love it if there were a few more questions like this in the EF. Go ahead and post it! :)

Start your own thread if you want (it does have its advantages, but it's up to you).


Also, I disagree about the GB being 99% political.

99% insane is more like it.

And make it juicy, we need some excitement around this place! Oh ... em, juicy has taken on a whole new meaning since I started hanging out with porn writers. Ever since The War of Underage Sex 2009 ended w/o truce talks it's gotten really dull around here. Again. I'm thinking of dreaming up another word/grammar controversy.

(You can always know when I'm procratinating over school work, I start posting obsessively. Anything to avoid textbook reading :rolleyes:)

Surely you realize that if you delete the tees from textbook and substitute an ess for the first one, textbooks become sexbooks.

And you know, this one textbook here next to me does have quite a few nudes, so it could almost be a sexbook.

What I want to know is why oh why did they always have to sculpt teeny-weinies? And they often seem disproportionally teeny! Also, Michelangelo's David? Well, you know how he made David's hands and head larger? WRONG! What man does that?

Other than the great art, this textbook gives textbooks a bad name. I'm sure it's from your nasty competitor, Copycarver. Surely. :D
