Hey everyone!! I'm looking for suggestions or preferences for music during a scene. I'm compiling a playlist and don't really know what to put to keep the right mood/energy going.

I've heard they NIN is a good band to listen to, I was looking for something harder than Metallica or Breaking Benjamin type stuff

I used Spotify to compile my ideal Scene Playlist:

Night on Bald Mountain;
Der Vampyr: Saint-Saens,
Overture; Danse Macabre, Op. 40;
Shostakovich, Symphony No. 10 in E Minor OP 93;
Barber, Adagio for Strings, Op. 11;
Vivaldi, le Quatro Stagioni, Op 8;
Beethoven, Piano Trio in D Major, Op. 70 (Ghost Trio);
Orff, Carmina Burana: O fortuna;
Giazotto, Adagio in G Minor for strings and organ;
Bach, Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565;
Sviatosla, Nuages gris, S. 199;
Saint-Saens, Le Carnaval des Aninaux: Aquarium;
Holst, the Planets: Mars, the Bringer of War;
Chopin, Sonata No 2 in B-flat Minor for Piano;
Battista's Stabat Mater: I. Stabat Mater;
Motzart, Requiem, K. 626: III Sequentua;
Beethoven, Sonata No. 14 in C-Sharp;
Boellmann, Suite Gothique. Op 25;
Goreccki, Symphony No 3, Symphomy of Sorrowful Sorrow;
Mozart, Requiem in D Minor, K. 262: I;
Chopin, Nocturne No. 20 in C-Sharp;
Rachmoninoff, Prelude in C-Sharp Minor, Op 3;
Motzart, Maurerische Trauermusik;
Herrmann, Psycho Suite;
Berlioz, Sleeping with the Enemy;
Bartok, Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta;
Liszt, Toyentanz;
Shoenberg, Erwartung Op 17; Isle of the Dead, OP. 29;
Bellet-Suite: the Maske of the Red Death;
Bach, Toccata and Fugu in D Minor.

The Throbbe, or maybe Mysticum Arabicola, by Ozric Tentacles might be worth a listen, if you're looking for something intense. For NIN, try Sanctified.

NIN/Trent Reznor has a range of styles. Some of his stuff is a bit more towards the ambient end, e.g. Ghosts; I could still see it being used in a scene, but probably not the mood you're looking for. If you want hard, from NIN I'd suggest "Closer", "March of the Pigs", "Head Like A Hole", or "Physical".

You might also try recent Gary Numan. Gary was an electronic music pioneer who later went industrial; his early hits wouldn't fit but later stuff like "Pure" or "Love Hurt Bleed" might suit.

Tom Holkenborg's "Brothers in Arms" and "Blood Bag"[url] are spectacular for hard percussion.

Going a bit further afield, Germany has some great metal/industrial acts. Rammstein are probably the best-known in the English world. Recs: [url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4Xlc8CIfOI"]"Stripped"
(Depeche Mode cover), "Sehnsucht", lots of others.

Umbra et Imago are a BDSM-themed German band. "Sweet Gwendoline" is sinister and hard. "Viva Vulva" is probably a bit softer than you're looking for, but excellent for fdom fans who speak German.

ASP's "Schwarzes Blut" (also the Eisbrecher cover) are good high-energy goth metal. Eisbrecher's good for angry loud music, e.g. "Zwischen Uns".

I prefere music without lyrics. Hearing Reznor talk about how he wants to "fuck you like an animal" is hot per se, but it would take me out of the moment when I'm actually having sex of any kind. Too attention-grabbing.

Here's some electronic music that works for me:

nice playlist - love it!

Thank you!
(Pardon my assumption, but I don't see another list so...)

It's added a great deal from time to time. We play it on shuffle, and there are some pieces that have come to be associated with specific activities, so in away, the shuffle almost choreographs the scene. And on one occasion, the Requiem started just as my partner was climaxing. We got a good laugh at the irony of the Requiem accompanying the little death.

Big Black would be a good step on from NIN, although maybe a little too ... nihilistic? I have had them playing during sex - confused the hell out of the poor guy I was with.

VU 'Venus in Furs'? There's actually a thread somewhere of BDSM related songs.

Oh ... quite a lot of stuff from this Tricky album is as sexy as fuck ... not sure if it's quite the right vibe though?
