Hi Ku Cat

for the invisible man
i see you
even with eyes bound
tongue tied
like beez see ultras
and the camera thermal spots
even when you stand still in shadows
you radiate some hots

Thermography spotted, no cold spots left
turn right
head north to the ice packs if any remain
the heat has fried my brain

When I finally get home to her,
crawl between the sheets
cuddle up to the purr and rumble
wrap cold feet around legs,
there's no place better

home is where the heart is and there's no place like home... *breaks out the ruby slippers; the munckins can hush their yap*

White dog ambles downhill,
tail a flag a flapping,
stops half way, Kist a cat
who Kist him back

your hands
illustrate the dichotomy of the man
the one
slender-fingered, quiet, sensitive to vibration, pressure
understanding fragility and elemental moods
the other
well-used, resilient, its warm strength holding fast to life
rooted in determination, obstinacy and grit
i hold them both
complete the circuit
feel their energies flow

Oh my, love
to be blessed by such as you
I imagine these tears lent by verse
holy water, absolution :rose:

Oi!

She's fearless don't you know
grows balls as big as melons
when injustice comes to fall
on life's innocents

She a sucker for puppy dog eyes,
stray cats and soft spoken words
uttered by crippled old men

:rolleyes::eek::):heart:

balls big as melons sounds really really uncomfortable

lol

as to the rest
pfft
you can walk and you're not old, so cut it out

Yes ma'am, In my attempt to write down a missive poetic,
scrawled on the page in verbal diarrheic I left
an overabundance of corn in the stool
and my balls are shrinking

he's not a one for crowds
for balancing canapé-conversation
society's paper plates too thin
too unstable
for a man used to depths
the steadiness of rock beneath
as thoughts mingle with currents of air
and rivers run through him
so he'll wrap a cloak of shade about him
affect invisibility
outwardly still
while all hell's breaking loose inside

Housekeeping

I've emptied the litter box
swept out the floor
folded the laundry, even the sox
got out the windex
cleaned the front door
where moggy critters sit on their ass
watch humming birds zooming
on the far side of glass

mornin', mister x

last night i was slambushed
sneaky sneaky sleep
today's quota of threads 'n' notes
a long uphill walk i'm not ready to take
yet

coffee
food
bath and book
still feel like napping
ugh
stuff 'to do'

wouldn't it be wonderful
one morning
just
one morning
to wake up
have the entire day free to do
whatever we'd like?
like children again
no responsibilities
to wake up bright-eyed
leap into our day
and all the adventures our imagination can deliver...

*looks at housework... ain't gonna do itself*

Come Ku
Leap upon my lap
we'll rock above the spring branch
lulled by katydids
while you dream of the days havoc
of hummingbirds at play

Driving Through the Bottoms

Somewhere between Market and Maple,
just past the house with crooked columns
I saw an old man rocking in the shade
of a porch I'd always thought deserted.
He met my eyes, pointed with a chin
I signaled with a forefinger, made my turn.
The rest of the day was as expected.

what an interesting mood this conjures

if i should eat a cherry stone
swallow it down
think not madly of me
that i should wish it root
grow strong
bear fruit
for i would be
a harvester of stones
- home-grown

She goes down the well of dreams
searching for sweet water at the bottom
a voice echoes from limestone walls
goodnight my love
