I've been around, just quiet for the most part. I've got a few medical issues to deal with but nothing life threatening. It sucks to get older and not in a good way.

Thank you for your support and advice! I shortened a few of my paragraphs, resubmitted, PMed Laurel, and she assured me it was not too late for the contest. Yay!
So as you can see from my sig line, my story posted. I was surprised and pleased it posted so fast.
I've already got 12 votes, a nice comment, and I even got some very lovely feedback via email. I don't have a very high score at all, but that's to be expected due to the nature of the story, I think. All in all, I'm happy. No more frowny faces.
Will probably read it in bed today. I may post a pic of my shirt later, although it's not as crisp and fresh-looking as it was, thanks to the heat. For that matter, nor am I...
