Okay. Rubio reminds us of this fact all the time.

But 80% of America hates Rubio, and 75% of America hates Cruz, if we're comparing apples to apples.

One of my earliest memories is the assassination and funeral.

He was much loved after that.

Nobody liked Reagan.

Not so much.

Guess who said it:

"He put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it. I think they felt like, you know, with all the excesses of the 60s and the 70s, and government had grown and grown, but there wasn't much sense of accountability in terms of how it was operating. I think people just tapped into -- he tapped into what people were already feeling, which was, we want clarity, we want optimism, we want a return to that sense of dynamism and entrepreneurship that had been missing."

His approval ratings say you don't have a clue:

Wasn't it said of Nixon that not even his friends actually liked him?

Trump is bright enough to work out the game. It doesn't matter how much you are hated by the people who hate you. All that matters is that sufficient people like you enough to vote and get you in.

He's slipped up a couple of times; notably with "My supporters are so intelligent that they'd still vote for me if I shot someone dead in the street."

Some days ago on TV (in the UK) some rednecks at a dirt racing track were being interviewed and they all loved him. That's all he needs really; plenty of rednecks.

There is an unwritten rule in politics: never be filmed while eating.

Good luck winning the general election with 1/3 of th vote.

It has happened. John Q. Adams received less than 1/3 of the popular vote in 1824. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_1824

Wilson and Nixon were elected with just over 40% of the vote. All it would take would be a popular third party candidate or two to cause that result. If Hilly wins the Dem. nomination and Sanders runs as a Socialist candidate and Trump does not win the GOP and runs as an independent, the eventual winner would probably receive less than 1/3 of the popular vote.

I go back to Kennedy and MLK, and neither of them were much liked before they died.

I remember JFK being personally well-liked before his assassination. He was very popular, with his beautiful wife and two young children.

Few get how pissed Americans are with both parties, and neither party gives a shit.

Bush and Hillary and Romney belong to the Club, you don't.

Trump said it all yesterday, if he wins the election the lobbyists got nobody to call.

535 congress people.

Can we please fast forward to a different year when there is no presidential election? This one sucks.
