Tal'Doray Jaquez, actually, Jaquez was his first name, but he prefered his family name in that place of honor, in the front, was out, busy checking his traps for animals. Only a few miles up in the frozen mountains, he made quite the killing on the furs he sold to the tribes that lived there, in various trades. Sometimes meat, jewels mind from the rock, crafted items the women made their robust men. What he couldn't use, he took to market down in the civilized cities to the south. He was a man of means and he saw no reason to change his way of life. It was pretty easy, every few days he would check his traps for... whatever he might have caught and, with a prayer of thanks to the spirit of the animal for giving it's life to provide for him, he would give it a swift death, he was not so cruel as to leave a wilderness creature to suffer in his traps for long, in fact, that was why he had made them all one way traps, so that the animal wouldn't suffer in pain until he found them.
Today, though... up ahead, he found what looked at first to be a fox, with its bushy red tail and snowy whit tip, but... something was strange... the way it lay, curled up in its cage... it looked... humanoid? There were legends of such beings... but he had never believed them! He approached cautiously. Perhaps it was just some fool child, playing a prank on him? Wearing a fox tail hat? This couldn't be real, could it?
"Hello there..." he called out. "Did you get yourself stuck in that cage?" He asked from a distance, just in case whoever it was was easily startled and had a weapon on them. Lots of skittish, strange folk in the world, it was better to be weary than dead. God, what if it were one of those crazy anti trapper? Trying to make some sort of statement?
