Did anyone else find "Girl on the Train" underwhelming? I can't see what all the fuss is about.

I bloody loved this and the ending was perfect.

The Sasquatch Hunter's Almanac by Sharma Shields. Very odd but I'm kinda loving it.

Just starting into Gaiman's Norse Mythology, and it is absolutely splendid so far. The man is a fine, fine scribe.

Who recommended "Pretty Girls"? Not only has it sucked me in, but the setting is my old high school and college stomping grounds. Thanks!

When you give a recommendation for a book to someone you just never truly know their likes and dislikes. Glad you're enjoying it.

so i just found out that you can go onto amazon and make reading lists out of the books you have bought so i have been doing that

then i realized that i am at almost 1000 titles

i started reading some older erotica that i had not thought of in years so i apologize to the ones on my goodreads reading/read lists

also Gwendys Button box was not worth $7 - it was good but not great

A book called "Flavor."

Very scientific, but surprising, what all goes into flavor. Not a thrilling read, but useful. I think it will help my chatting skills at the bar with the dames.

I went into look at the books in the supermarket this afternoon ( I know, I know. But I was book hungry! ) and everything looked so blearily depressing with the tiniest bit of vacuousness. There is need for more balance and hope and stretch in our mind fodder.

I decided to hit the boom shops this weekend.

This morning I read the trouble with sheep and goats

https://www.theguardian.com/books/20...-joanna-cannon

I liked its set 'somewhere' I don't know ( 1970s uk) but feel as if I do. It's a rather sad tale with a lit of truths about people in it and some well painted moments of behaviour; and done rather broader brush strokes. I wouldn't not recommend it, it just is not my sort of thing.

And I am taking a break from the breaking of eggs by Jim Powell. Again, I didn't buy it, it arrived here. It's shaping up just fine.

I want some books I choose though!

elle,

The article, linked within the Guardian article on the book, was an unexpected prize. I love an unexpected laugh, in the midst of such seriousness.)

Yes, one of the best lines I thought, but there are a few like that. Some are a little painful i think. Some attempt to be do but come off as as tired ( trying to deal with multi culturalism In this era in particular ) it's a little ...well , It's not that I think it's less accurate but the humour is more tired. I smiled about the 'kitchen'. We have all seen that image, right? This book is that, through out.

For ltr.

Maybe the tyrannosaurus rex was no different. Maybe they too felt the same desires towards tyrannosaurus’ of the same gender as Ken, in his most vulnerable days, felt towards Darryl.
