Italics continuing for a full page is 100% a tag issue. Double check all of your tags before sending it to the pending folder. If you're using a lot of italics, it's easy enough for your eyes to glaze over and miss an incorrect bracket or missing backslash.

Get in the habit of closing your italics at the end of every paragraph, even if the next paragraph starts out with italics as well. This will prevent the lost italics that sometimes happen when your italicized section is at a Lit generated page break.

Same applies to bold. Issues with other allowed tags are almost always user error as well. Some wonky appearance does happen with blockquote, and some html special characters don't display as intended.

It's just as critical to scrutinize your tags as it is the text of the story.

In one of the glitches, it was, you're right. The run-on of italics was caused by using < text text text > to signify an email - there were in fact zero italics in the story, but the damn html thingie picked up something that wasn't meant to be html code at all, and thought it was italics. So I won't do that again.

But the other ones - they were double and triple checked, and it was something "new" going on - I was doing it exactly the same, something external changed which I didn't/still don't know about. Not worth the hassle, though, to find out.

The LIT Android app doesn't recognize any HTML tags. The LIT preprocessor barely recognizes italics, boldface, underlining, and sometimes blockquotes to indent. Don't assume that browsers will render your fancy text correctly. View your work as if it were all flat text. Is it readable?

If you have a large block of text and you put it between two tags and a page break happens in the middle of the text... oops. One of two things happens...

1. you now have the rest of the story in whatever tab was on the previous page
2. all other formatting is wonky due to mismatched tags
