The ONLY legitimate reason the government may tax the people is for expressly Constitutional government NEEDS (not its WANTS), and can only rightly be collected from the people on an equal basis, not weighted for or against any particular person or group. To do otherwise automatically introduces bias and discriminatory taxation policies, which are illegal. Income taxes, originally determined to be unconstitutional, need to be returned to that status by repealing the XVI Amendment, and shuttering the abusive tyranny of the IRS forever.

So when the tax code is altered to favor friends and donors of the people in Congress, that's a bad thing. If it helps keep those people who altered that tax code in power, that becomes a very bad thing, because that's bias and discriminatory policies.

If being a factual, logical, and passionate debater of public policy and politics makes me a "freak," then I'll embrace the title. You have my permission to continue calling me "freak."

In any case, I'd rather be a freak than an emotional snowflake who bases arguments on what feels good rather than on the lessons of history and principals of economics. I don't doubt you never had any intention to engage me seriously in debate. You're not up to the challenge. The results have been self-evident: repeated instances of me showing that I have the better informed, more factual and logical position.

Now let's turn to something more serious and important.

Yesterday, I heard on the radio a reputable source that the Senate version of tax reform would actually raise taxes on 14% of current taxpayers. The example given was an individual taxpayer, making $200,000.00 annually, who lives in a high tax state and itemizes. I think this is a big mistake.

The reason the Senate plan does this is because the Senate sought deficit neutrality based on recent economic conditions. What that ignores, of course, is that tax reforms like those being proposed inevitably lead to economic growth and increased revenue. Let's hope the Conference Committee comes up with a viable version that provides needed tax relief to all tax payers!
 
Perhaps you missed all the referenced links in Post #2 that argue "tax reforms like those being proposed" do NOT "inevitably lead to economic growth."

There's also the fact that the current R Tax "Reform" Cuts arrives with NO broad support from economists, business leaders, doctors, labor, the CBO, etc. Even the White House (via Steve Mnuchin) CANNOT and HAS NOT provided any projections or data to support such a view. Normally, they mash together propaganda from R Wing Think Tanks, but they haven't even been able to do that.

There's also the fact that even if in a magical world they "inevitably" lead to "economic growth" and "increased revenue," there's no "inevitable" job creation, much less GOOD job creation and increases wages. The only thing "inevitable" is that stockholders increase their wealth.

If you want to argue that the rich just get richer, by all means, do that. You've made NO argument that everyone benefits in the end--you're just relying on a mystical, magical myth called Trickle Down
