Joe Biden is a joke. His ONLY claim to fame is that he was Barack Obama's vice president, and Obama's popularity isn't what it used to be, not even among Democrats. I've yet to hear a liberal here on this forum rushing to Biden's defense.

That's okay. Dan amuses me GREATLY! He was outraged when Trump won in 2016, and he was even MORE outraged when Mueller didn't sink Trump, and NOW he's angry because he doesn't see anybody worth a damn running for the 2020 Democratic Party presidential nomination! The guy is CLEARLY frustrated!

I disagree that it was a complete bust. Maybe for the "collusion" (which I hope comes back to bite the Dems with a vengeance, as I suspect they are as guilty as the Trump team), but the report left open the question of obstruction of justice. Trump may have been saved from that as a result of the actions of those reporting to him, who resisted obstruction. Still, it does not present him in a favorable light.

I keep asking myself, do recent elections show the best the United States can come up with?

The question of obstruction was solved by Barr and Rosenstein, and by the fact that Mueller had no case for obstruction or he would have brought it. Volume II is political crap.

Another thing that really outrages Dan is how I, a woman, repeatedly and consistently best him intellectually.

He is an emasculated misogynist who is especially triggered when "owned" by a smarter and more logical female. That's one reason he keeps insisting I'm some man's "alt."

Thousands of International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) union members have taken to social media in protest - creating a pro-Trump group - to show their frustration with the IAFF leader (Harold Schaitberger) endorsing Joe Biden.

Less than a week after a Facebook public group called IAFF Union Firefighters for Trump was established on April 29, more than 18,900 people have joined it to show rank-&-file support for President Trump. A counterpart Facebook page called IAFF Fire Fighters For Biden is being followed by less than 800 people as of May 6th.

Anthony Vera, a firefighter from Hollywood, Fla., said he is an American first, firefighter second, and a union member third. He said that a strong economy is one of the reasons for his joining this movement: “I submit to you all that there’s no better issue for a firefighter than a strong economy and higher wages. They each bring more (not higher) tax revenue (which last time I checked, the majority of us depend on). More money in the economy means more security for our profession and stability for the municipalities that employ us. And that translates to more municipalities that are able to spend more on ‘our needs.'”

Edward Hannon, a firefighter from the Arlington County Fire Department and a member of the group, said he is an Independent voter but strongly objected to the union’s endorsement.

President Trump has praised the movement and thanked the firefighters for “rebelling on their very foolish leader.”

Most Democrats realize that Joe Biden is NOT a serious candidate, but what other choice do they have?

Biden first became a candidate for the presidency way back on June 9, 1987, when he announced his bid for the Democratic Party's 1988 nomination, only to have the whole thing COLLAPSE by September '87, when Biden withdrew under a cloud of plagiarism charges along with packing his resume' with false claims.

Twenty years later, the Deleware senator decided to try again, declaring his candidacy for the 2008 Democratic Party presidential nomination on January 31, 2007. This time, he made it all the way to the Iowa caucuses just under a year later, finishing in 5th-place with less than one-percent of the vote! He withdrew that same night. But he also made news with his verbal description of fellow-candidate Barack Obama from Illinois:

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy" - and, with that statement, Obama selected Joe Biden to be his running-mate! And the rest, as they say, is history!

One thing that's seriously hurting Biden right now is that women who have been sexually harrassed already dislike him! Joe is much less popular among Democratic Party women than was Hillary Clinton. And Democrats take the #MeToo movement much more seriously than Republicans do. For those Democrats who have long attacked Donald Trump for allegedly harrassing women to NOW support the "Grope & Change" candidate would by hypocritical, so say the least!

Again, I fully agree with what you're saying, Jack!

The problem the Democrats have right now is that all of the declared candidates are racing to the far-left, trying to show that they're the most "progressive" person running. Joe is establishment, making him the most moderate option available - which may seriously hurt him with the base - but will actually HELP him win the more moderate BLACK voters who control so much of the Democratic Party, especially in southern states!

Bernie's going to get screwed again, and THIS TIME his people will not go quietly into the night. If you think they were angry after Hillary rigged the system against them in 2016, think again! I'm thinking of Eugene McCarthy's delegates in Chicago, 1968 - it's not going to be pretty!

Yes and no to it being an old boys' club. One of the reasons the DNC pushed Hillary is her coziness with Wall Street types. Someone like Bernie or Warren doesn't have that relationship. It's more about the "How much money can you raise?"

The RNC has this problem too. I'm sure we all remember how Sheldon Adelson forked over huge sums of money to Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, and the GOP in general.
