I started a RP on here with another woman about our kids having a playdate while we had our own playtime...

See...the mention of children being "around" would stop me in my tracks and I would move on to another story.

A fall themed twist is that the kids, supervised by the oldest teens, are in the back yard piling & playing in the leaves, while the adults sneak inside for grownup play. Could be nice psychological tension as the sex is rushed in fear of interruption.

Why?

Trying to have sex on halloween while kids are trick or treating so you keep getting interruppted

Kids are swimming in the pool

Kids are watching a video

Kids are outside playing basketball or bike riding

Taking a shower with your partner

WHile camping, mom and dad in one tent fooling around while kid sare asleep in the other or off fishing or swimming. Or mom and dad are in the RV while kids are making dinner on the campfire and the RV starts rocking...

or...

I'm sure I'm not the only parent here that has tried to get some action while the kids are in the next room, or could walk in any minute. Hell who here has been fooling around on a Sat or Sun morning when a kids bangs on your door asking for breakfast. It's part of life for a parent.

One night hubby and I were in the middle of sex when son came into our room from a nightmare, and he fell asleep. We then finished while he was asleep in our bed.

Native tribes all had kids in TeePees or longhouses while the parents got busy.

When families used to have 10+ kids, and lived in a two room house do you think mom and dad went to the local holiday inn? Hell no sex was a part of life and still is.

I'm not saying let the kids watch, but if they know mom and dad have a healthy loving relationship, knowing mom and dad are making love shouldn't be a big deal as long as they aren't watching or participating.

BUt with the rule being they cannot even be around sex....this is tough.

Even something like mom's going down on dad and the door starts to open "Hey, mom I need...." even if they stop and the kid sees nothing they are around it...

The only time-in my opinion-I can see kids involved is if it really furthers the plot in a non sexual way. A romance story maybe where one of the people have kids. Maybe a mother/father has two kids and are on hard times and they accept money to do something sleazy because they have to support the kids...but direct contact or to have them there to have them there doesn't work for me.

My understanding for the OP request is plausible scenarios to have sex when kids are in the home or could walk in on the amorous couple anytime, not that they do witness the act.

This is why Halloween. A couple teases each other all night and everytime one is close they have to get up to hand out candy throwing on a costume, or mabe they're wearing a two person costume and fucking as they hand out the candy though that might be frowned upon.

Late at night, with the lights out, the bedroom door locked and the kids have been asleep for an hour or so. Plus, you have already taught your one year old to knock to get permission to enter a room with a closed door.

Then the plot will be for both parents to be as quiet as possible so they don't wake the little darlings.

ETA: But that's too much, what am I saying, that's exactly like real life and who the hell wants to read about that?

Doable. Spoons position, and be very, very quiet... won't work if she's a screamer or a moaner--or he is, for that matter. And of course there's the ever-present danger of one of the kids getting up and coming over to ask for something like a snack. So you have to keep the clothes arranged so that they can be easily and quickly put back in place like nothing's happening.

Damn, that was fun! But it would never see the light of day here as a story, however. It treads too close to the line.

Dad comes home late at night from work tired. He falls asleep with the happy thought of "working hard to support his family". Yeah, I think that would be pushing the boundaries. Having the kid call on the phone could work, though.

Plot or character development, yeah. Kids often come into the picture if I'm trying to add depth to a character; one of the first things I try to figure out about a character is their family. And I think it gives a different vibe to that hot lesbian BDSM scene if you know one of those characters has a five-year-old kid, even if he's off staying with his dad for the whole story.

I would! Sometimes I want escapist fantasy but sometimes I like stuff I can relate to.

This relates to something I was wondering about. A short story I'm trying to write has a demon army invading and molesting targets they take a fancy to.

So far it's written as if children aren't present. Though I got into making my own world where I have plenty of other ideas that happen afterword, some involving characters who would have been children when the invasion happened.
