Elizabeth Warren proves her ancestry; embarrasses shit out of Trump & Trumpsters

Which band?

From Georgia to Oklahoma, what does it matter?

It was possibly 6-10 generations ago.
I bet I have some Asian in me.

Now I can't get into Harvard... ;) ;)

Are we really going to start defining our race upon "possibilities" over the preponderance of our DNA, and more importantly, cultural upbringing?

This Elizabeth Warren press release can mean only one thing. She's about to sue some poor bastard for residual casino ownership shares.

Naw, she's going to call DonaldGrabEmbythePussy Trump on his million-dollar challenge so that we can all watch him do his draft dodger shuffle act. :)

You got me curious enough to visit the Lit Archives to try and determine the first recorded use of "Pocohontas" as a pejorative.

I had to wade through the banhammered simpleton Ishmael's strange fascination with the Disney "Pocohontas" movie circa 2005.

The first use of "Pocohontas" as a General Board slur came from the banhammered situational Native American 4est_4est_Gump (Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!) back in May 2012. He was hiding (Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!) behind an American Thinker editorial (Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!) which would give him "plausible deniability" when called out on his racist rhetoric ("I didn't say it! I didn't agree with it! I was merely passing it along!")

Well that wasn't a mystery that needed solving but I'll be goddamned if you didn't solve it anyway. Good job.

Yeah, it matters. It's this whole, big thing.

Edit: Also, it matters personally to me, because if hers comes from Oklahoma, that's the western band, which means that I can't go around telling people I might be kin to Elizabeth Warren. So... there goes that.

Define, whole, big thing...

You lost me. ;) ;)

You realize that we're walking out onto the thin ice of "everyone is a minority" which might lead to an actual equality and the end of the race industry?

There are two distinct bands of the Cherokee nation and a whole slew of history behind the division. When someone says that they're Cherokee, the first thing they get asked is, "Which band?"

I can give you a real cliff-notes rundown if you want me to, but it's a HUGE thing. Technically we reconciled when we relit the eternal flame but... some people are still pretty... well on paper we're one nation but EVERYONE knows which band they are. And will tell you, and make sure you know.

But uh... there's a reason that I still live on my ancestral land and they don't. Not throwing shade, just saying, Warren.

BTWs, I really could not care less about this whole thing- but if the president wanted to give that money to charity- it wouldn't really hurt his bank account and it WOULD improve his public image, so I don't know why the fuck he doesn't do that. To him, it's pocket change, a small loan.

Uhhh...

You do realize that her purported DNA test did not say that she was a Cherokee, but that there was a strong suggestion of of some native DNA, 6-10 generations ago, and that could mean many things...

;) ;)

I agree, but he won't. All he's going to do is keep handing rope to her primary opposition in 2020 thanks to her stepping up during a campaign season IN WHICH SHE IS NOT EVEN RUNNING...

;);)

Think about that.

I did not. I asked that like a million times, and told a whole story about MY experience with DNA test that made me skeptical it could give her that result.

I don't know why you're winking at me.

I prefer not to think about Warren. So I'll probably just continue not to do that.

Yhall know that most people don't live their whole lives obsessing over the shit that rich, famous people say, right? Like you're aware that that's pretty uncommon?

I think I kinda got into this when I was drunk last night but like... I don't understand why these posts are still on the GB. I thought they made a politics board JUST for shit like this.

I'm not obsessing.

It's cold, wet and miserable outside and I have all my inside work done, so I am just killing time. As a half-breed, this shit just fascinates the shit out of me.

Must've been quite an interesting day in your teepee.

Imagine that....you and Elizabeth Warren share a common bond. Both of you share the same common ancestry, albeit in different percentages.

And look how far she's gotten in life.
Unlike you.

Warren is a homeopathic Cherokee.

She has a drop of Cherokee blood that has been diluted through multiple generations of white ancestors.

He won't because he doesn't want to give her any credibility; she might challenge him in 2020. Also, he is psychologically incapable of admitting he was wrong.

I'm not reading through this whole thing, but an article I read today had her at best 1/64 Native American. I saw another number that was like 1/1024 meaning as Native American as about anyone else born in this country.

If that number is embarrassing it should be to her. Not as embarrassing as Harvard referring to her as a 'person of color' but pretty close.

Democrats need to pick and fight a real battle, not keep buying in to Trumps grade school antics.

BTW, the preferred spelling is "Pocahontas," not "Pocohontas." (Of course there is no correct spelling in her native language -- it was an illiterate culture; but "Pocahontas" is how John Smith spelled it.)
