An icy morning is thawed, a pool in sunshine on a windowsill.
I'd nap there too, if I could.

exploration
spelunking mountain ranges
curves and bends
trails that run down
tracks that run up
this patch has been
discovered
but I am looking
for those special places
the ones that make you gasp
at what has been found
take my time to wind
up and down, that building
tension of possibility
pace it out leisurely
no rushing a thorough search
is necessary
to find perfection
where we can be together
in unison
and admire the desire
of discovery

Red face thanks

I sit a little straighter
a smile
appreciation rendered
a rose in words

Second Sleep

It's warm and at last, I succumb to late morning
sleepiness. It's zero degrees and less,
no reason to go outside. The wood stove's
banked a great log; enough to nap to noon.

its in the air,
that place between fatigue
and death
where you teeter and sway
counterbalanced by force of will
and lack of conviction
in the end all that matters
is how hard you fought for it
and the thoughts of those
that remember you
raise a toast and mist
an eye,
few fought harder
or better

*first time*

before I had even started
you yell
get away from me
face pale a little white,
quivering wracks your body
nerve endings electric batteries
screaming I'm overcharged
covering your nakedness
with the quilt
a delicate lilt to you
exposed and betrayed
by something you didn't
know existed
I slip into the ensuite
to allow you a moment
to process it alone

you said I came too early
but it was you who came too late!

now I'm not blaming you
though you are blaming me

OK I admit it, it was all my fault
my mind wasn't on the lady in hand

I was thinking of Audrey Justine Tautou
I wasn't thinking of you

Ringmaster reads the tape
wrong, in all of this
pulling miracles out of rabbits
stuck in hats
or is it
pulling hats out of rabbits
stuck in miracles
or the other way round again?
wrong side up
right side down

playing along this
mournful clown
perpetual smiles
painted on perpetual
cheeks
everything working
on overdrive
falling with style and grace
to the spectators
a happy time for their thoughts
to chase
a merry tune and dance
its gone awry in stupidity
crafted circumstance

does the ringmaster never take off his hat?
too busy directing the marches
he'll watch you fall
smiling as the nets fail
the audience gasp
and all that's left
when the clowns have gone
are the rabbits
no miracles, no hats

i'm making assumptions it seems to fit but without context it makes for interesting ruminations. *nods*

tyres screech
interrupting sleep
sound that startles

bleary eyes
realise that
they are too
heavy to hold
for long

charlaten

a huckster
faking the way through
awaiting the moment
one will tap his shoulder
tell him he has to get
the fuck out
you don't belong

a feigned look of
indignant stupor
hunched in his
world of fakery
he awaits

His hat can stay on
he can collect his smiling money
I will bleed out every drop
sweat and stain my pain
all with a clowns smile
a mile of delight
in perilous plight

the hats, the rabbits
running round
for the spectators
while I flail
impaled on

pride,
ego,
and stupidity
what more could you ask for from
a clown
honk, honk

The only way in was read the tape wrong otherwise it seems like surrealist crazy. However you are aided by knowing a little about me via the threads.
you've put it out there what you do and how insanely busy you are. you left 'read the tape wrong' and 'crafted'. how much i'd have got without the other information's moot. i can't unknow the stuff, so it gets brought to the table.

heart rate
blood pressure
senses overheat

oxygen intake doubles
hyperventilation

heart pounds,
hear its sounds

all she did was look at me
I am undone

I don't know
what's more dangerous
the smoking gun
or her smoking eyes,
the ones that prise open
my words
render them
naked, vulnerable

:blinks:
if a man doesn't want his words unlocked
he doesn't leave the keys dangling in plain sight
with 'use me' writ on a post it note
and stuck to his forehead
