I have two Earth Day stories started, although one of them is shaping up to be awfully long. Somewhat surprisingly, I've also found myself working on a sequel to my V-Day story already. One of the commenters on the story suggested I write about a couple of the secondary characters, and that turned out to be a pretty fruitful idea.

I'm so sad. I've been moving for the past two weeks, and I just sat down to write my V-Day Contest submission and discovered that the contest is already closed. Is it normal for contests to close so early? I really had a good idea for this one, too!

The contests actually run for some time before entries close.
You can use your idea for next year's contest. If you start now, by next year it will be a finely polished jewel.

Having a lot of fun with my posted stories for the contest. Comments are all over the place. Both good and bad. I guess that's what makes it fun to write.
The story I posted this morning already has 28 comment and over 540+ votes, haha (Not all good) another of my entries had over 1000 votes (have since lost about 40 votes. Has 55 comments.

Yeah, that's true. I was hoping to do the Survivor Contest again, which almost requires that you complete every contest and get the bonus. Plus, I just wanted to attempt all the contests this year. Won't be able to now. I would have expected the V-Day contest to go up until V-Day. Very disappointing. I guess I'll just skip the Survivor contest as well...

The standard deviation of scores (from the average of 4.20) is 0.46 and the standard deviation of votes (from the average of 299) is 345. The median score is 4.32, the median number of votes is 171 and the median number of pages is 2. The top 25% of scores are 4.53 or above and the bottom 25% of scores are 3.95 or below.
Sweeps
Some votes have been reduced (swept) since the start of the competition. A total of 9 stories have had their votes adjusted, with 2 sweeps resulting in a new score that day which is higher than before and 2 sweeps resulting in a new score that day which is lower. I did manage to get one more story in at the deadline. With maybe 5 minutes to spare. Another of my annual "poke-the-reader-with-a-sharp-stick" stories.
That Damned Valentine's Day Card
Loving wives, with some wimpiness, bi-sexual cheating, ruining a perfect day, very manipulative wife, unequal boundaries, easy reconciliation...
Ending's far short of what I wanted - I wrote it in the last two days, and compressed about two literotica pages of ending into maybe a dozen paragraphs. That damn deadline was staring me in my face.
Funny thing, it was basically a throw away scene from a different story, that didn't feel right. I pulled it out of the original and wrapped a quick story around it. Not worthy of much more. I figure 2-3 pages, but it ended up six. Someday I'll figure out how to keep it short and sweet.
I've got 'em riled up. I don't know what it is about me that makes me go out and do this every few months. Anonymous is having a hay-day in the comments.

I thought it was a good story Tex. I will agree that it was quite long but contest rules don't allow chaptered stories unless submitted as one story.
The reading crowd is pretty vicious this time around. I put four stories in the contest.
My non-erotic is doing well, but my inces/taboo and two loving wife's stories are taking a pretty good beating. LOL It's expected and the reads and votes are always a lot higher. Even the comments both positive and negative are high and fun to read.
