The year 2010
The occurrence, NASA identifies the appearance of a "worm hole" "just" passed the Moon. General panic arises. The UN starts to discuss contingency plans, while other world leaders sees this as a threat and mobilize their armies.
The year 2012
The occurrence, a massive ship appears through the "worm hole" and the "worm hole" collapses back onto itself. This news was kept quiet as the ship moved into a position which kept it hidden behind the moon. UN talks ramped up a to alert status. The general public went about with the believe that the end of the world was coming as was publicized in the general media.

First contact is made and it causes questions to arise from the public, there is unrest, but nothing coming close to hysteria or panic.

Rules
Very basic, if your actions influences another character, make sure that the writer is fine with it.
No godmodding
If you are unhappy, PMs is a much better move than public discussion.
If anybody says no to an idea, then it stays as such. It just comes down to basic respect for each other.
If you wish to write as multiple characters, I am fine with that. As long as you don't over extend yourself.
What is needed
Writers for Futurists and Norms
If I can get at least four dedicated writers, I will start the IC
Character sheet can be just basics and perhaps a short bio, we can do character exploration in story. But if you wish for a Character sheet...
Name:
Age: (since the Futurists have extended lives, you can say 50 and still look 20, 120 and still look 35)
Picture: (please try to refrain from Anime or cartoons, I will accept 3D and 4D pictures)
Physical description: (What we can't see on the picture)
Faction: (Futurist or Norm)
Personality: (Here you can add traits that defines your character)
Sexuality: (Not that I expect any action to go down, but you never know, this is Lit after all)
Occupation:
Bio: (As short or as long as you wish it to be)
Gear: (This will be what you are wearing and equipped with at the start of the story)
Extra: (Anything not covered above)
Few facts to know
Futurists are humans, they are the very last people left in the future. They have been genetically altered to have slower metabolisms, heightened senses, accelerated healing (via nanites) and superior muscle tone.
They have all seen their loved ones suffocate and take this mission super serious. No resistance will be tolerated by them at all. Not that they want to suppress free will, they just want to stop the damage currently being done to Earth.
Norms are normal humans. Be assured that the role of the norm is not to stand around and bow to the superior humans. They will have to carry the future as the Futurists are all sterile. Norms are the future and don't they ever forget it.
Science
Now this is where it gets interesting, as a norm you have no access to anything that isn't there already.
As Futurist, think Star Trek and you're half way there. I will detail the Futurist tech a bit later on.
Social groups
Norms is the social groups as it exists today
Futurists comes from one big group, there is no more countries, there is no more race. You are human and that is that. Though some races may not be as well represented as others due to genocidal wars.
Weaponry
Norms think modern and you can have it, I will even add a few dark ops programs
Futurists think photon, think plasma caster, think high yield no radiation cluster atomic bombs, think napalm acid, think vaporizing rays of sunshine. Think of any scifi weapon and I will either use it or not. There is exosuits, there is neuro implants, there is cannons which can vaporize the planet. We are going big on this front
Energy
Norms once more fossil and nuclear with a low percentage of "green" energy
Futurist: those energy plans which conspiracy theorists keep jabbering about? Yup like that, just cleaner and more poweful
The dates
Yes I picked 2012 as the start, why? Because we were all supposed to die that year.
Futurists are from 2512. Why? I just liked the 500 year idea
SPOILER ALERT
Basic idea for the Futurists is this, the leave as the world is on its last legs and they travel through a time warp to the past. Now unlike normal time travel theories, if they alter the past, they will not disappear, only change as person. Until the whole process is halted and reversed, then they will turn into Norms with futuristic knowledge or disappear, though disappearing is only an option at the end of this story.
If you pick a Futurist character, I will expect of your character to be able to do whatever is necesarry to achieve the end goal. Whether you have to shoot a baby in a cradle or have a gang bang marathon (these are just extreme examples I thought up, I will never condone any of these actions...well unless you want to prevent whole scale UN or AN revolt by doing a gang bang marathon, but that will be on you)
If you want to throw a spanner into the works, feel free to discuss it, I don't think anybody would be happy if superior beings suddenly popped up and changed our lives to fit their ways. I want creativity.
Oh and the Futurists number a paltry 200 000.
