Okay, was writing a series, made mention of maybe including a tat on a woman but received some feedback that no tat ever made a woman better, but I have a difference of opinion. However, can I get opinions? What do you think, would the act of a woman being tatooed in a very special place be a turn on for anyone or not?

I'm surprised that in this day and age where many women-especially younger ones-have more tattoos than guys this is still an issue for anyone.

I think tats are sexy even in excess, so certainly a nice strategically placed one is sexy.

One of me female characters has a pair of emerald green cats eyes(the same color of hers) tattooed at the small of her back and several readers called it out as hot.

If you see "your girl" with a tat give it to her. That's a lousy reason for someone not to like a story.

's Funny. I've never been a great fan of tattoos but someone told me a while ago that it was a statement of freedom, especially for women, but also for men.

You have to be free of the 'suits' tyranny to be able to sport a tattoo. Celebs, independents, those that just earn a wage, can do it whilst those who try to climb the greasy pole know a visible tat is the mark of satan. Whilst I don't like the 'tramp stamp' enthusiasm, I've often thought about a shoulder rose but if I want to get further in the job - even keep it - I have to stay unadorned.

A story with tattooed characters would never turn me off but I just wonder how you introduce a tat in a story.

I think LC is a tad sexist talking about 'giving it to his girl' if she had a tattoo.

To each his own, but I don't like tattoos on anyone, male or female. I wouldn't date or marry someone with them. That's just my opinion, which seems to be in the minority. But, people are free to do what they want, which means I'm just as free to not like them as the other person is free to get them.

I was referring to his character. If he sees his girl(as in his character) with a tattoo in the story then give her the tattoo.

Not if she's got a tat fuck her.

Also the suit remark? where you living? Many professionals have them now, maybe not full sleeves or anything crazy, but way gone are the days of only bikes and hell raisers getting them.

My daughters studying to be a dcyf officer, she's doing an internship right now and the woman she is working with has a full length sleeve on her right arm and works for the state.

She works with troubled teens, they identify with her more because of it.

Get out of the past Elfin, and don;t put sexist remarks in my mouth

I can do that myself sometimes:D

I'm one of those who thinks that there's nothing sexier than bare skin. I'm prepared to accept that a small tat here or there adds an interesting ... flavor? ... but all I can think of when I see really big ones is, "how much did that hurt?"

Some characters, I can understand, will have them whether you and I want it or not. As will some lovers.

But bare skin? Oh my, it has thousands of years of pedigree, doesn't it?

A tattoo on a woman...or anyone...should tell a little snippet of the story or be a clue to something about her. Even if it's that she's a wild woman, it should develop her.

Intersteing that there is almost equal satisfaction/dissatisfaction with tats, I thought, amybe becasue of my own ideals, the tat would be more accepted. I see it as a visible symbol of freedom, personal freedom, but received a PM that pointed out that a tat can and does define ownership, which is why tatoos were brought to the western world. Intersting comments, appreciate them from everyone.

And there used to be slavery in this country, but we,ve moved beyond that.

What the fool in the pm was talking about was more branding than tattooing.

There are some tats that still denote that in the BDSM community, but that's a little different.

I see that in your post you received negative feedback about the tat. Is it posted here and it was a comment from a reader or is this unfinished and its feedback from someone you know?

Main thing is, when you write, especially for a free site like this, you write for you. If you want your character to have a tat give her the damn tat

Because if you're going to listen to everything everyone says and be this worried about it, you will never finish the story, or it will end up like nothing you intended.

Opinions on tattoos vary from person to person. Even among those who are in favor of tattoos, everyone has their own personal opinion on what is tasteful, how much is too much, and where is an appropriate place for a tattoo. You are never going to get a consensus on this, so there is no point in trying to please all of Literotica in a single story. If your character is the type of person who would wear one or more tattoos, then put them on her. If not, then leave them off.

My personal feelings on this matter aside, I have intended to create characters with tattoos on several occasions. Except for once or twice, I usually forget and end up leaving that detail out of the story. It is generally not important to the overall storyline, so failing to include it makes no difference in the long run.

In one piece the tattoo was very important to the story, as was the actual process of receiving it. I centered one chapter around that scene. Old Flame 3.

LC, you are seriously an alpha male.

If you want to climb the Rockies (as a female) to prove your chromosomes are just as good, avoid tats. They mark you out as someone trying to rock the boat.

I agree with all you say but visible tats don't work on females in finance, consultancy, law or corporate management. You get sidelined.

I quite understand that tats are great in some circumstances and, in the situations you describe, probably get the clients more relaxed.

I'm not judging, but a full arm tattoo would not get you a top job in finance or consultancy - think of the clients.

I am a creative person...

I made my living as a photographer, I also paint, and write, but when it comes to the female form, I just don't believe you can improve on mother nature.

It's just my opinion, of course, but I believe a woman's body to be the most perfect form ever created, and I hate to see it denigrated by ink.

Again, that's only my personal opinion.

Correction, not an alpha male, but an alpha. Gender has nothing to do with it.

Odds are someone interested in those careers you mentioned my not be the type for a tattoo anyway(or the shoulder tramp stamp type.)

And again, tattoos no longer demonstrate "boat rocking" ever since they became much more prevelant on women they have become more acceptable.

They are no longer for bikers and trouble makers.

Come on Elfin, you wouldn't hire me?

To me 1 or 2 in the right are very sexy, but too many turns me off

Your personal opinion that I share. There are tattoos that enhance the beauty I perceive, but they're a small minority of tattoos, and usually the best I can say for a tattoo is "Well, it doesn't make her ugly". Ditto piercings.

And in this episode of men are so pathetic and full of shit, we discuss tattoos!

Man says, "Oh too many tattoos are ugly, makes them look bad, not attractive at all"

Heavily tattooed woman offers man sex.

"Oh. honey I love your tattoos they make you so hot, oh please do me do me do me!"

Idiots.

Tattoos on the ladies? A big mistake. You're right, a tattoo never made a woman better

I, personally, love a good tattoo on a woman, it's so hot. The sluttier the better. Piercings too. Actually I was even thinking of getting a tattoo myself (a small blue butterfly on my lower back, inspired by a porn actress I saw once).

Depends on the tattoo.

I promised myself that I would get this once I drop to the right weight.

I'm getting it between my shoulder blades. Tattoos have to be something stylish and timeless. Something that will still make sense forty years from now.

That are tasteful

http://www.strangebeaver.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/tat/2.jpg

And say something about you,

You should probably think about the consequences before you get one.

And even if it's a personal statement about you, make sure it's something that will look good. Never get a tattoo for the sake of a joke.

Also, chinese just looks douchey, no matter who you are.

Tattoos do nothing for me personally either way. I find them neither a turn on or a turn off. As an amusing aside I always laugh when people tell me that tattoos are an expression of individuality because the two girls I know in real life who have one both got them when they were young because their friends were getting one.

In terms of corporate jobs I think the truth is somewhere between the extremes that LC and elfin describe. Having a visible tattoo isn't going to lock you out of many professions (if any) or prevent you from progressing in your chosen career. But if you are interviewing for a good job and have dozens of applicants then some people will eliminate "the woman with the big tattoo" just as an easy way of getting the numbers down unless they clearly stand out as an excellent candidate. Like a lot of other things when applying for jobs it is something that could make things harder for yourself.

Hi guys. Hope you don't mind a "newbie" chiming in.

Personally, tattoos don't turn me on. That said my wife has a tattoo, and I find her incredibly sexy. It just depends on the woman and whether the tattoo enhances or detracts from the overall package... that's my preference.

Now, in terms of a character in a story - I say if it fits the character, give her a tattoo. You know your character best; if she's the type to get a tattoo let her. The character is the sexiest part of the story, in my opinion. If the tattoo fits, let her wear it.

Good tattoo = hot.

Bad tattoo = awful.

Samantha Cameron the British PM's wife has a tat of a dolphin on her foot. But she was in marketing - hardly a profession.;)

I once saw a woman about 5 feet tall, two hundred pounds, wearing a crop top emerge from a Tescos supermarket in UK. She had obviously had her whole abdomen tatooed - prior to having the three or four children who accompanied her. The little beasties had given her almost terminal stretch marks and consequently the Tat looked awful.

I dislike tats on any one and on women particularly. Is that sexist? Probably. And I would hate it if any of my daughters got one. That's who I am.:)
