What Made You Smile/Laugh Today?

My day started with eldest daughter's email... she finally got around to checking out NaNoWriMo, registered on the website, and plans to use it as motivation to write (and publish) her first ever novel.

:D

Nice!

So my doctor's office just called. "Hi K, this is S. This isn't health related but Dr.C wanted me to call you and let you know that he found out about a local writing class in October."

File under: Life in a Small Town

:D

Discovering that the boyfriend (silly juvenile word, but it makes us both grin) is in as deep smit as me.

There's a distinct possibility of rice and roses somewhere in our future, and for the first time this doesn't scare me at all.

I thought of our dear friend The Mouse when I came across this article about women at one extreme end of the bra-size continuum. She's a 28G and just can't find a good fit.

The nit picky lingerie perfectionist in me was harrumphing three paragraphs in... and then I got to the "Oprah’s Bra Fit Intervention episode back in 2005, in which a Nordstrom’s bra fitter helped each woman in the audience determine her ideal bra size..." bit.

That.Wasn't.Nordstrom's.

:headdesk:

But on the up side, I had an excellent interview this morning (#5 with this company, with two more in the works), a cool front came through this week so it's gorgeous outside, I have another interview morning/get to make dinner for J Friday night, and I was approved for a loan to buy the house I'm currently renting (which will lower my monthly expenses).

I smiled from a simple gesture today. I am a trainee crew chief at work.. Working in a specialist site for those not fit for normal jobs.. We gott everything from physical injuries to mental disabilities to people like me who simply needs time to grow and floroush into something usefull.

I was out in the smoking yard grabbing a deathstick and it was pouring so i went for the cardboard container for something to hold over my head on my return inside. ANd what did i find... Plasticks.. Someone had dumped an entire box of plasticks from MY department into the paper trash.. Not to mention most of it were plastick boxes we reuse and dont throw away..

So beeing quite anal about seperating plasticks and paper. i grabbed the manager as soon as it stopped raining. And he ensured the perpetrator hadto manually sperate all the papers and plastics.. as well as bringing the plastick boxes back inside for reuse.. Watching that itself gave me a kind of good feeling ensuring proper procedures but what really made me smile was watching the others coming out to help.

Was quite nice seeing that kind of cooperation in a task when they usually just bicker and play araund. Made me smile :) And i gave good old Gaia a thumbs up too wich is always a bonus. (Or is it spelled Gaya?)

ME!

I accidently raised the parental controls on myself (instead of a wifi leech next door!) and couldn't figure out how to undo them!

No Lit for me yesterday!

I just heard my 80 something mother explain to my 80-something father that he must refrain from sending her emails with controversial content because if it's on the internet it goes everywhere. He has solemnly agreed with her. He's known about this for quite a while.

Damn too cute!

I spread a little love this afternoon.

Three years ago, a Honda dealer north of here moved heaven and earth to get me in a car. With third party financing. At an ungodly high interest rate [because it's all they could find].

And then two years after that, they moved heaven and earth again to put me in a better car, with nothing down, no increase in payments, and HONDA financing [at a kick ass rate].

A year of steady payments, the judicious opening of a credit account or two... and my credit rating healed/improved enough to get approved for a small home loan this week.

So even though it was a 45 minute drive north, I took them homemade [still warm] chocolate chip cookies this afternoon; asked to see the manager (who remembered me), told him the story, and handed over a few dozen cookies.

Made both of our days. :)

That's a great story:kiss:

And that's why the employers you're currently interviewing with will get an absolute jewel when they put you to work: You remember people. You remember their likes, dislikes, and how best to approach them. You remember acts of kindness. You make people feel like ... no, you make people KNOW that they matter.

Kindness, triumph over adversity, cookies and Hondas.

This story has it all.

Realising just how much my friends like me.

Catch up chat with my ex today. Hadn't realised just what an arrogant s.o.b he really was. Boy, it's illuminating how much people change when you aren't shagging anymore.

And my friends very patiently put up with him for me, just cos he was good to me, even though he acted like a complete twat towards them.

I'm not sure even brown sugar brownies will be sufficient thanks.

Taking a survey for my required research study participation credit for my psych 101 class.

I'm sure I tipped their numbers by my answers of "feels happy/excited/pround all of the time" combined with "thinks about or does cut or hurt yourself all of the time"

*giggles*

sometimes being a perky masochist has it's benefits. :cattail:

Finding a Saxophone for my daughter to play in band at school. And it didn't cost me an arm and a leg, just my leg. She is so excited. Seeing her happy, makes me happy.
:rose:Niki:rose:

A conversation with my 6-year-old niece. When we were discussing school, I asked her if she liked her teacher this year. She rolls her eyes and says, "I am not there to like my teacher. I am only there to learn as much as I can about everything, so that I am the smartest."

This is great! Out of the mouths of babes ... gotta love kids!!!

I wore a little black dress today, that has a magenta satin lining (that no one sees)... when I was getting dressed this morning, I realized I had a set of lingerie the *exact same color* as the lining of the dress.

My nerdy little lingerie lovin' heart was over the moon with happiness all day; it was like I had secret super powers or something.

Holy crap, two days ago, I was wondering how in the world I'd ever be able to eat for the next month, and today, my inbox is overflowing with people wanting work done.

Now, let's just hope that some of them actually, you know, want to pay for it. I get wayyyyy too many damned window shoppers.

So I was asked what I felt like having for lunch. I said " I have the taste for 5 guys in my mouth again."

Damn that freaking buger chain name!!!
