The intermittent chirping of a smoke detector that has gone bad. Battery -- new -- chirping -- continuous regardless. Time for a new one. Damn thing is screwed into place and thus requires tools to remove to replace.

Sandhill Cranes

The snow is now gone. However, the ponds and lakes are still covered in ice

Redwing blackbirds are back, but still have a few slat juncos at the bird feeder

Sandhill cranes are back and attempting to reestablish their nesting sites
