"Sorry ladies, but to beat the gym here we need not only strategy and type advantage but surprise as well, we will start with Veronica and then Spring, to use a fire type before a water type is nearly unheard of in a ground/rock type gym, it will throw the gym leader's focus out of balance." It was a logical and pretty genius strategy if he got to say it himself, to use a fire type and then a water type against ground gyms was not seen often, it was sure to throw Brock off his focus as a water type appearing after a fire type would be pretty shocking.
 
Veronica blinked at his suggestion. You're not going to let me get pounded in there are you? She looked at him with concern, hoping he knew what he was talking about.
 
He chuckled and shook his head as they walked out of the pokemon center and towards the gym. "Of course not Veronica, I have two big reasons for this, one it will make the gym leader get out of focus, and two, I want to see how well your flame attacks works against rock and ground type pokemorphs after our training. If I see things gets too serious I will return you to your pokeball so you won't risk getting injured too much, but you need combat experience as not every skill and trick in combat can be learned from text books and training, experience in real life combat is important as well." They soon reached the gym and its theme for rock and ground was clear as its walls and roof looked like they had been carved out of a huge boulder.

They realize she's more powerful than the usual beginners that enter. The Geodude tries to reduce damage by curling into a ball, but still her flamethrower is doing great amounts of damage to it. They try breaking up the attack by attempting to tackle, but she's too fast and evades each attempt with ease. Then they try a different tact where the Geodude purposely takes damage with a bide and unleashes double damage back at Veronica, knocking her on her butt. Richard looks to want to call her back, but she shakes her head no. Instead she gets a determined look on her face and speeds around the Geodude landing a few quick attacks that knock it out. Veronica is happy she was able to beat a rock pokemorph, but the battle wasn't over yet for she came face to face with a mean looking Onyx. She again tried her Flamethrower but the Onyx just scuffed it off. It wrapped itself around her trapping her in a bind attack. The Onyx squeezed her in its tight grasp threatening to crush her. She cried out in pain. "RICHARD"
 
Richard swiftly pulled out Veronica's pokeball and returned her from the grip of the giant stone humanoid with its snake like tail, h the ncalled out for Spring to enter the battle, it didn't last long as he shouted out Spring's attack. "Spring use a combination of aquatai land slam on Onyx's forhead!" The powerful combination smashed int othe stoen creature's head like a bulldozer and it slowly toppled over, out cold. Richard called out Veronica and hugged her while Brock gave him the Boulder badge while commenting on a very finely thoguht otustrategy as he would have though a water type would have come first and not a fire type.
 
As Richard hugs her, Veronica pushes him back as her body was sore from the pain of the bind attack. Well I hope I made you brought, I beat one rock pokemorph anyways. I'm going to need another Chansey massage I think.
 
Richard nodded and put aside his first badge of his journey into his badge box and warps an arm around Veronica and Spring, with Helen doing a piggy back on him, but she was light so it was no problem, and walked towards the pokemon center where Nurse Joy and Chansey were glad to help his pokemorphs back to health.
 
Again Veronica woke up from the healing chamber of the pokecenter feeling 100 percent refreshed. She runs up to Richard and tells him she is ready to go on the next part of their journey.
 
Richard laughed as Veronica came bouncing out of the pokemon center, eagerly asking when they would go on for their next journey, Spring grinned at her as well while Helen was sleeping in her pokeball. "Easy easy Veronica, we will leave right away, I gathered supplies while you were getting your massage, we can leave for Mt. Moon straight away if you'd like to."
 
Veronica grinned and looked at him and Spring I mean if your guys are ready then lets go unless you feel like we should rest, up to you Richard.
 
Spring simply grinned and stated that she had nothing against leaving right away. And so the group ventured towards the mountains east of Pewter City, the mountain range lined a good way and it would take at least two days to cross it on foot if they were lucky to find a path or road. This way we will develop your bodies and your energy techniques to a higher level. I will join in this as well but only using martial arts and holding and breathing my breathe for a good amount of time." He then put on weights and mouthpiece on himself and the group started their heavy training up the mountain side.
