How do you get a picture to appear in your post, not show up as a link?

First, you need the picture's URL. You can usually get this by right-clicking and selecting "copy image location" or something similar.
Now post:
<img>URL</img>
but with the <>s replaced with []s. If you quote my post, you'll see the syntax below.

On the web based image you wish to post; 1. right click the image 2. choose "copy image location" 3. in the new post your working on, select the small yellow icon with the mountain on it 4. it opens up with an https: (empty field) 5. from browser drop down-> Edit -> Paste
The image web address will show up in your post, click Preview Post to see if it worked right.

Try right clicking on the image online where ever it is and then selecting 'open in a new tab'. It should open as a picture all on it's own with a new URL. Then copy that URL, click on the 'Insert image' icon at the top of your Lit post, and paste in the URL. (I think that's what I did last time, and it seems to work ... I'm totally shit at this sort of thing, so I may have gotten something important wrong, but give it a go.)

Some sites, like imgur, always return the page url, so the images cannot be hot-linked.
In most cases, if the URL doesn't end in .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, or similar image type designation, it can't be hot-linked with the IMG tags. Attachments at Literotica are an exception, the link for an attachment will work with IMG tags.
