The Minnesota Meltdown

Let's limit ourselves to the one graph that is relatively up to date.

You will notice that all of the significant job loss was before Scott Walker became governor in 2011. At the time of the significant job loss, Democrat Jim Doyle was governor and the Democrats controlled the legislature.

Since Walker became governor in 2011, the trend has been steadily upward. Your own graph shows it having begun to spike by April of this year and, as we know from more recent data (funny how you always cite out-of-date information), that explosive Wisconsin job growth continues.

In short, you, dan_c00000, again prove the point that economies fail under Democrats and soar under Republicans.)

(If you really are a Democrat, and not actually a Republican trying to make Democrats look bad, then you are really bad at this. You keep proving how bad Democrats are!)

In any event, thank you again for helping me prove my point.

And the significant job loss between 2000 and 2003 was while there was both a Republican governor and Republican congress.

But hey, they've got the best jobs in the cheese, smelt fries and border-town fireworks industries.

Nice.

It is true that Walker did not meet the quarter-million jobs promised in the 2010 campaign. So what? It hasn't affected Wisconsin's satisfaction with him. He has been reelected twice since then, each time by wider margins than in 2010!

dan_c00000 was very helpful in supplying this graph:

It shows the significant job loss before Scott Walker became governor in 2011. At the time of the significant job loss, Democrat Jim Doyle was governor and the Democrats controlled the legislature. Since Walker became governor in 2011, the trend has been steadily upward, with a spike by April of this year and, as we know from more recent data, that explosive Wisconsin job growth continues.

Despite falling short of his quarter-million job prediction, Wisconsinites would rather have the booming economy and budget surplusses that Walker and his republicans bring than return to the job losses and $3 billion deficits under Democrats.

The fact remains, and it is the point of this thread, that since starting out with a superior economy left by their Republican predecessors, Minnesota Democrats -- by their own admission! -- have turned Minnesota into a declining economy while, since starting out with a failing economy left by their Democrat predecessors, Wisconsin Republicans have turned Wisconsin into a booming economy.

"Wisconsin is seeing a balanced economic recovery. 68 of 72 counties are seeing business expansion. Minnesota only has only a third of the state is seeing business expansion.

"Under Jim Doyle, Wisconsin was the 10th worst in taxes, since Gov. Walker, we're down to the 21st in tax burden. Minnesota now has the 6th worst tax burden in the country."

Is English his second language?

A recent listing has ranked Minnesota as the least tax-friendly state in the United States....

“It added a new top income tax rate of 9.85% in 2013. But what makes Minnesota really stand out is that its lowest income tax rate is 5.35%,” the finance website said.

Minnesota Ranked As Least Tax-Friendly State In US, WCCO (Oct. 11, 2018).

In other words, it heavily taxes the middle class.

In other words, people in Minnesota pay less in taxes than people in Wisconsin. Oh and people in Wisconsin are more heavily taxed than evil, liberal California. Never forget, I'm a racist.

8. Minnesota
Taxes paid as pct. of income: 10.8%
Income per capita: $52,038 (13th highest)
State income tax collections per capita: $1,943 (5th highest)
Property tax collections per capita: $1,534 (17th highest)
General sales tax collections per capita: $1,011 (18th highest)

6. California
Taxes paid as pct. of income: 11%
Income per capita: $56,374 (6th highest)
State income tax collections per capita: $2,055 (4th highest)
Property tax collections per capita: $1,451 (21st highest)
General sales tax collections per capita: $997 (21st highest)

4. Wisconsin
Taxes paid as pct. of income: 11%
Income per capita: $46,762 (24th highest)
State income tax collections per capita: $1,297 (11th highest)
Property tax collections per capita: $1,616 (14th highest)
General sales tax collections per capita: $876 (23rd lowest)

In other words, racist dawn, even though people in Wisconsin make less money than people in California they pay more in taxes. Why? Because racist Scott Walker has to give millions of dollars to a multinational corporation.
