Using initial letters A,T,G and C, construct a poem of four or more lines. Bonus points for DNA reference in theme.

Apple sellers on opposite corners of 125th
take quarters for the pieces bought in
gross. Appleseed promises are pocket
carried forward, new digests of an old story.

A little seed starts an orchard full.
Trees from the first fruits carrying
great plans forward the pattern imprinted,
catalogued, on into the future

All the gracious ladies of long ago,
though plagued with diseases
gratefully now rarely seen
carried us through to our future.

Analysis of nucleotide sequence
generates dendrograms which
trace my wayward ancestors
cross continents through time.

With apologies for sequence mutation

Again with the double helix
twinning on each other like vines
grooving, major and minor
crossings bent in some kinda jazz

Always wondering why I am how I am
Trying to find the answer so clear
Giving my all and losing my fear
Coming to know the truth about me
Will never be clear for me

An XY and a XX chromosome
three hundred years ago
genealogically, Poof!
constructed me, i.e., eventually.

Wonderful! I wonder if one could make a sestina style series of stanzas! Wonderful to read so far.:rose:

All kings, dancers, fruitpickers,
tennis pros, Homers and homeless
grifters: we are all of us
cut out of star paper.

Cavemen, wombats, fruitflies
alike. Melodies on bass
guitar, who knew four strings
t'all we are or needed for

t'all we got. Matzah balls and
chicken in the pot sang Jones
all stars. Who knew we were
giant multiverses even we

gnats are giant brats.
Terrors with a fumbling, blind
allegiance to our own (own!) kind.
Code remembers for us.

Brava! :D

Joy to the World

A zygote is a diploid cell.
Gametes, male and female,
couple microscopically
to adhere to the uterine wall.

Gonads seemingly indifferent
come as testicles or ovaries
to what now becomes an embryo
after which more features are born

as a miracle turns another
Gloria or Zelda into a mother,
Carlos or Mustafa a father
to spread Joy! Joy! Joy to the world!

(remix of an earlier poem)

As I collected the evidence
The clues became clear
Crime scene before me
Ghastly and barbarous

Agnostic thoughts of wanton hunger
The slow climb makes passion longer
Guilt free the heights call for me
Can’t be DNA I feel; is that not the Goddess of fertility

DNA Fib

A
terrific
genetic sequence
could be wasted
as too much meddling with
the overall base
genome when
cloning
ancestors
tragically
gives
coding error

Genetics

A helix is a spiral = one that is tighT,
Coiled like a slinky = coil encompassinG
The life on this planet = from viral DNA
To all we "higher" = organisms. As if A
God could just speak = though not in AramaiC,
Tell us, gently = You are animA
Go and be happy = even dyslexiC
Cloning of genes = favors evolvinG

The Tritina was enough for me!

A quick review of bio-chemistry
totally for my own interest
guaranteed to mutate
ceaselessly, or damn near a'ight?
