That looks like a very nice place to have a birthday. *sigh* I've been to Italy, but never to England. I guess I have to put it on my bucket list. Oh, Didn't Clarkson get his car pushed off one of those cliffs? I'm a bit of a Top Gear fan.

Oh, Champagne truffles? Yum, I might take the risk.

:eek::eek::eek:

Limb losing alert! Olaf, get that bucket with the limbs I'm saving for a Frankenstein story.

I am in WALES - I'm easy ;), but if the Welsh ever catch you suggesting it's England here you will be toasted laver bread (BIG old mess, yuck). Worse than saying Canada is American!

Get off those truffles! I had to live fifty years to get that birthday box and I mean to enjoy every morsel myself. LOL.

Oh God, now I need a hand to pull me out of the wall. Guys! a hand here please. I have to go and hang washing and walk my Piglet and claim my Mother's Day lunch (which the family failed to book in time so who knows if we'll get a table, shoulda organised it myself of course )

LOL

WHOOPS! Guess I'm more tired than I thought. Thanks for the warning though. I know to never call a Kiwi and Aussie. I'll be sure to add this to my list. ;)

*Cautiously puts down the box of truffles* Not even one?

Southerndown

I've just looked at Naoko's birthday pictures. I've been there but in June. The sheltered gardens were fantastic and because it was a sunny day with the tide out, most people were on the beach, not in the gardens.

Later on, in the evening, with the tide coming in and a strong wind, the waves were large but a performance group were trying to do drumming in the sea. It was an interesting spectacle as they and their home made drums kept being knocked over by the waves.

They enjoyed themselves. I think the barbecue with several barrels of ale they had on the shoreline helped.

That's the way to have a party - a great venue, plenty of food and drink, and a ridiculous activity.

*grumbling mildly* Bugger, I forgot to change the clocks last night.

Some of my shots from the northwest. Yeah, the scenery here is probably the main thing keeping me in the Pacific Northwest...well, other than family.

Shall I have Rolf order up a glass of champagne then?
Sweetie, you're making me feel very homesick.

Wow, Seattle looks super!

I love living here in South Wales. Sometimes the Fella says he's heard of some hot new job in Brisbane or Ghent or Oxford. I say, How lovely, it'll be a long commute for you.

There are some shots I took near here on my birthday here, you might already have seen them.

LOL, I was thinking of my champagne truffle chocolates. Don't even think about asking for one of those! Losing a limb often offends.

:D
Naoko, lovely pictures and I quite enjoyed your blog. I'm going to have to check that out more often. Oh, and if going to the beach in winter makes you bourgeois, then I guess we'll have to be bourgeois together. ;)

Okay, THAT sounds like fun!

Hey that sounds great. I should organise that next year when I'm 51! We can all go and be bourgeois having the Naked Party on the beach LOL, perhaps not in February.

John, put down those truffles, I've already lost two fingernails today so I am in a reckless mood.

We went on another bourgeois walk today, I'll write it up on the blog. There was lots of mud and I was the only one in wellies (the infamous pink ones!) so when we got to a stream, I could wade across and wave at the others disconsolate on the shoreline. Piglet is a bit more blase these days and less inclined to think I might wander off in a fit of absentmindedness. Not like the time we went into Ali Babha's Cavern in Turkey (that is what the shop was called!) and Ali Babha offered to swap her a pink tinkly dancing costume and six bangles for me. The poor kid's face! ROFL.

There's nothing quite like a quiet drink in the Lounge
No barking anywhere is there?.

And we're expecting snow and as if that's not enough the "coldest Easter on record" is expected. Whatever it is with the weather, the road gritters have been round already.
Great Heavens, is the no end to this meteorological chaos ?

Rolf. A large something please.
And whatever everyone else is having, please.
:)

Hullo HP! Thank you very kindly. I'll just snaffle that drink and then I must finish sorting out the dinner money, polish the school shoes, blahdiblah. I've been frittering my time away in Lovecraft's thread, but the fighting isn't nearly as good as it was in Spike's so I think I'll wend my weary way to bed after this snifter.

:rose:

A wise decision, IMO.
Remember what de Kuyper said:

"He who nightly de Kuyper takes
Soundly sleeps and fresh awakes"

Funnily enough I'm told that words almost word for word in the original Dutch.

OK, I've been tempted into posting lots more but now I really must run away as both Lovecraft and Pilot will be out to get me after what I said in LC's new thread! Tee hee hee! *totters off on high heels sniggering helplessly*

:rose:

*Gives back truffle box to Naoko* Well, fine.

Nothing like some fresh squeezed apple cider before watching Walking Dead.

I don't think I'd want fresh squeezed anything before watching Walking Dead. That'd be sort of like eating a mayonnaise sandwich while watching porn.

Hullo all, good morning.

Maj, :rose:. Good to see you.

Thank you for giving back my box of truffles intact, John. Love your limbs but not in my bucket for the Frankenstein story.

I'm just putting out a cup of coffee for HP before I get into the sandwiches, hanging laundry, doing the dinner money, put the bacon on, prepare to drag Piglet from her sty weekday routine. Back later for a good old check of the threads LOL.

Morning  on a clear day to the next person who posts.

Good morning from freezing North Kent as the wind lashes my house. I de-salted the windows yesterday. That was pointless. The wind brought spray from the high tide and I've got to clean them again.:(

I'll wait until after the next high tide...

LOL it's a pretty breezy day here in Stepford, South Wales too. Good towel drying weather! I shan't clean our windows until the builders have been back and dismantled the scaffolding. I was awfully surprised when the contractor said he was going to try and get them out on Saturday and not a bit surprised when they didn't show up at all - during a decider match for Wales in the Rugby Six Nations.

Well, another load of towels to hang out! Bathroom done, kitchen next *rolls up sleeves and totters off on high heels again*.

Cup of tea for you before I go, Og my dear?

OK, I have just nipped back to leave this order of blueberry pancakes for Pilot in here. There you are, darling, and as soon as you arrive, Olaf will pour you a cup of coffee with cream and splenda.

Now, the kitchen floor! *expression of grim determination*

Thank you for the tea.

I've got to go out shopping to top up the basics - bread, milk - before the snowstorm hits.

I'll need coffee when I get back.

What a crazy weekend. This week will be busy, but at least I don't have to grudgingly organize a party for the end of it.

I'm putting on John's Keurig. Cup of coffee for you too, Anna?

I've done wonders after cleaning my fridge with Olaf and Rolf's help. They have managed to support me through cleaning the bathroom - including washing of floor; hoovering the stairs, Fella study and living room; washing up the washing up the Fella did this morning (his washing up is gestural rather than practical) and mopping the kitchen floor. (Oh look, a chance to use semi-colons! It was only when I read one of Tio's stories that I realised what an academic habit it is to deploy the semi-colon at every available opportunity.) Now I've got a couple of hours before advanced Piglet time and a tub of reduced price guacamole, what more could a MILF ask for?

Well, that, but one's hopes are not high at this time of day.
