How To Library Sticky?

hello ya'll old and new!

I've been updating here and there, its difficult to find new thread topics that aren't in here. If you've seen one that needs to be added, feel free to tell me - there is going to be a big edit coming up this weekend. But since this is by us for us, I crave input.

thankies!

you can PM me or add it here, just don't forget to add who the thread starter was.

AWSOME IDEA

I LOVE these compiled how to threads....I can't tell you how many times I've gone and read the first one you put together! I think it's great that you'll take the time to make all this how to stuff a little easier on everyone. I have to say while i completely enjoy reading about the great ways to give blow jobs and such...recently I've been lurking in the Random How to Thread posted by MissTaken...I can't tell you how many useful things I learned in that thread...so maybe you could have like a Other/Random Category that includes all these helpful, but non-sexual How To threads....
Just a suggestion

thank you very much for the suggestion though - keep them comin!

A how to thread...good thing! I have been asking many people this and I'm not getting any answers, so lets hope I can here.

I'd like to know why my picture doesn't show here in the forum when I post but it's my profile. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Can you see it? Am I going crazy? I'd like to know that people can see who they're talking to. Thanks!

you can look in the manual (a sticky below this one) and I see your AV. you may have your AV's turned off.
This thread is more for making suggestions to put things IN the manual - not the manual itself :)

It might be off base, but i was thinking the other day that we have an excellent section on the other side of lit, things people have written in the how to story section. If there was any way to bring some of those links in here it might be helpfull as they are often clear, concise and well written answering many of the questions that get posted here.

I dont know if there is an interest, or if it's to much work, but it seems a waste somehow to have that much information sitting there waiting for someone to read it, but if my views are any indication on the how to piece i wrote-a lot of people don't know that it's there

That is an excellent idea, I haven't forgotten the section - but it has been placed on the back burner since I've been digging in the Lit archives.

I'll start a thread later tonight or you can do it when you have the time -- and post exactly just what you have said ... or just link everyone to your post here on a new thread so people are aware of the suggestion.

Make a poll, ask people to find their top 10 guides on anything thats in there... I'll go over them all (after they are all posted in the initial thread you/I started) and add them to The Blank Manual shortly after I go over all of the info.

Thanks for this suggestion!!

Anything to help :)

I started the thread, now i am going to wnader over to the other side to make my top ten list lol.

Just a heads-up - in the Blank Manual, the link for "excessive wetness" actually leads to a thread about quitting smoking. (Unless I'm missing some kind of connection between the two...)

rules on submitting stories/ newbie guide

hey there, great site and great guide! I'm looking forward to learning/participating more. :)

BUT: as a new person... I find it hard to navigate/find my way around and know where to start. I wonder if it's a possible to have a "sticky" newbie folder with info..

laurel's info. in writer's hangouts and the main faq (on how to submit stories etc) should definitely be included in the blank manual i think. http://www.literotica.com/faq/
as should info. on how to find/read stories, how the message board fits in with story posting etc.

Final thought and then I'll step off (I don't mean to be critical of what is obviously a lot of thought and effort. i'm just EXCITED to find you all so i want to get started and know everything!!!): are there perhaps too many main categories on the main page... i didn't know where to find stories... author's hangout/story circle/story feedback? And once you're in a thread can you just see a list of topics rather than the full text of all posts?

Okay, being quiet now. Thanks all. it's a really great site.

Addition to the guide

Hello BlueSugar,
I would like to suggest an addition to the guide if I may. It's a wonderful thread with some moving content...
'wife with other men'... currently and unfortunately repositioned to the Playground.
It's a thread that shouldn't be swamped in the forum it now finds itself, and being listed within the guide will give it chance to survive.
Thanking you in anticipation.

After reviewing the thread I can't say that it will without doubt be added. It starts off well, but isn't too much of a How To but more of an experiences thread. I will try, but I don't know for sure. I'll have to read through it a bit more.

Thank you for the suggestion :)

I could really use some help collecting threads. I don't want to be a jaded oldie and disregard threads that I've seen over 100 times - just because they aren't new or needed to the manual in my opinion, doesn't mean someone else can't pipe up about it and help me place a thread somewhere in The Blank Manual. I've started several "HEY, SUGGEST SOMETHING" threads - but I can count the suggestions this past year on one hand.
I'm not asking anyone to do my job, or collect any more then a couple of threads they've seen that has helped them or remembered that helped many - new or old - doesn't matter ... as long as they aren't already in there.

I REALLY love gems that have links to already mentioned threads in the Manual or on the boards... its like being in two places at once, REALLY helpful

Cafe threads:
~ Should stay on topic more then its hijacked.

~ Something people will want to see if they're browsing the Cafe
EX> stuff like lifestlye, spirituality, opinionated, questions or discussions ... not so much the my coffee this morning sucked blurts.

I tend to dissqualify threads for:

~ Being early hijacked that doesn't give much of anything to the main topic.

~ A new thread that doesn't give any new info that we don't have already.

~ A thread that references the poster to the Manual in the first 6 posts, and doesn't still continue on to give great advise from old or new posters.

ant-depressants and women

I am looking for a thread on anti-depressants in women and inability to orgasm. Can't find one, although there are some men talking about it in the viagra/cialis thread. Is there one started I can look at?

you are looking for?

2 threads total on antidepressants and women unable to orgasm.

or

1 thread with the women that are on antidepressants whom are unable to orgasm

Check the "unable to orgasm" threads there are a few that piped up and said "hey, maybe its my meds"
There is also in the Stressors section a whole bunch of links on depressions and meds, I think in half of them the issue of sex/orgasm/desire comes up.

other then that, although I am the librarian, I've been doing too much work on it lately to remember specific threads to check out, sorry I couldn't be more help at the moment.
But I know it is IN there, keep browsing :)

This one does have some discussion on antidepressants and libido. I haven't reread the entire thread, but I'm sure I remember it being brought up in there somewhere.

Anyone tried Lexapro

I have 8 MS word pages filled with new threads since the last time I gave a detailed update, I've been doing a handful of threads every month but its time again for another clean sweeping revamping update.

I enjoy doing this for everyone, and I also have enjoyed everyone's input via PM or these master threads ... and now its that time again where I ask ya'll for help ontop of what I've already dug up :)

post them here or PM me, doesn't matter.

thanks again everyone for being supportive and helpful.
I have a few things to say about things I've noticed lately since I've gone into lurk mode, but I will save them for another thread in the Cafe`.

Love2be8, I'm not quite sure why you asked this here, but I'll answer all the same. Although, it's a question we've gotten many times, and I think it'd be a good addition to the BM if it's not in there already. :)

This isn't as uncommon as you might think. Just like all women don't get off on oral (or penetration, clit stimulation, etc.), not all men do.

It usually has something to do with the mouth not providing enough stimulation. That could be because he's used to the tighter grip of a hand (his especially), the excitement of penetration, has a medical condition or is on a medication that dulls sensation. Sometimes it's none of those, and he's just not an oral person.

Do you use your hand(s) in conjunction with your mouth when giving head? For example, do you stroke his shaft and play with his balls while stimulating the head with your mouth?

Does he masturbate? How often does he get off with himself or you? Have you tried having him hold off on masturbation and sex? If not, and he comes a few times a week via masturbation and sex, for example, you might try holding off on everything but oral, and do a good amount of teasing with that. For instance, leave him alone on the first day, kiss his cock on the second, add some licking on the third, sucking the fourth, then do the full blowjob on the fifth.

If he comes from oral once or twice, he might find it much easier in the future because he may have a mental block about it now. He could be thinking he doesn't come from oral and/or there's something wrong with him and/or worry you're tired, disappointed, feel like a failure, etc. Sometimes it just takes a little success to really get the ball rolling!

If none of that works, reassure yourself and him that there's nothing wrong with either of you. You really love pleasing him, even if he doesn't come, right? As long as you both enjoy the journey, there's no reason to worry about the destination. He's normal and it sounds like you're doing a fine job. :)

BlueSugar
I'm off to bed right now, but I'll collect some threads to add.

And, is there any way LadyG could add something to the title of TBM, like "The Blank Manual - Popular Topic Library" or similar? I've noticed a lot of people mention they don't check TBM because they don't know what the hell a blank manual is. I didn't have a clue either, until someone explained it about a year ago. It's a real shame for people to miss out on such a great resource and all of your hard work!

Link to a thread that says that there is no thread there.

I tried this thread and it says that there is no thread there. Not a very good how to manual.

"How To FAQs to Read Before Posting thread started by quoll"

Thanks.
