Guy is a grocery store manager. Wife thinks he will never be enough so she decides to trade up. I can’t remember if they have kids or not. His boss decides it’s time to make him a regional manager. He will be supervising multiple stores. Included with the job is a membership to the country club (a public relations thing), where his wife spots him. I remember her making some comment about him not supposed to be there.
Meanwhile, at one of his stores, a night supervisor is needed. He tries to promote a Hispanic woman, but she has a time problem. She has to make sure her sons get to school each day. He convinces her that they can work around that. They become friends. He’s invited to Sunday dinner. He starts to encourage the boys in their education. Eventually the guy ends up with the woman.
Of course, things aren’t going so well for his ex-wife.
