As Republicans continue their assault on women while racking up trillions of dollars in new debt, the public seems to be taking notice according to recent polls and actions by the RNC.
In my home state, the RNC has cancelled all ad services through election day for Rep. Keith Rothfus. Rothfus is competing in a more fairly drawn district, one which wasn't gerrymandered by Republicans. His opponent, Connor Lamb, won his seat in a special election earlier this year in a district which went for the con artist in 2016.
Based on their actions, the RNC has concluded Rothfus won't win and is conceding the district to Democrats.
In a hypothetical rematch, Hillary Clinton would again get more of the popular vote than the con artist, 44 percent to 36 percent, which includes candidates for the Green and Libertarian parties. In a one-on-one matchup, Clinton would decisively trounce the con artist, 50 to 41 percent.
And finally, performing their own internal polling, the RNC found 71 percent of con artist supporters said it was extremely or somewhat likely Democrats would win in November.
The RNC study also finds “a wide gender gap and generation gap,” finding Democrats favored by women of all ages and also by men ages 18 to 44. Needless to say, scared white men over the age of 45 support a Republican candidate by 15 percentage points.
The message, it seems, is Republicans are digging their grave as fast as they can yet can't help themselves. So intent on digging that hole, they're oblivious to the bulldozer coming up behind them.
