Who had a permit from the city, to clutter up City Hall Plaza with this nonsense ? The current members of "Boston Free Speech" ? John Medlar whined about Right Wing racists and nutcases getting booted out of privately-owned social networks.

What a day for a clash! Wet, soupy air, grey, overcast day, with sullen showers.


Boston Free Speech, (Otherwise known as "Free Speech for White Supremacists, and no free speech for undocumented migrants seeking asylum, Democrat women, LGTB, or any minority communities associated with BLM") is supported by members of a group the Anti-Defamation League calls hardcore white supremacists.

Counterprotesters Outnumber Participants

More than 100 counterprotesters also gathered at the State House for a planned march to City Hall organized by Stand Against Hate-Boston and the Democratic Socialists of America.

Counterprotesters largely outnumbered just a dozen or so "free speech" rally participants, with over 150 people gathering to chant "Black lives matter" and "Don't give into racist fear, Nazis are not welcome here

Martin Henson, with Boston's Black Lives Matter, says the organizers may say they're there for free speech, but he calls them "fascists and racists and white supremacists."

Rally against “far-left violence” draws larger counter rally


Boston police said they made no arrests and the competing camps largely dispersed after a few hours.

More than 300 counterprotesters organized by the Democratic Socialists of America and others confronted the rally with anti-Nazi and anti-racism chants and banners.

Several hundred people gathered around 11:30 a.m. for a protest and counter-protest. WCVB reporter David Bienick heard members of the crowd chanting, "Who do you serve?" and other anti-police slogans as the demonstrator in black was led away.

Tweets by the activist media outlet Unicorn Riot showed hundreds of anti-racism protesters confronting the small right-wing rally near Boston’s Holocaust Memorial at City Hall Plaza

Counterprotesters began rallying outside the State House about 10 a.m., with the goal of disrupting the noontime rally planned by the coalition that organized another “free speech” rally last year that drew an estimated 40,000 counterprotesters.



Neither group had city permits for their demonstrations. An organizer of the (remove the sense of reality in America) rally said the group had tried to obtain one but to no avail. Berard said his group didn’t need one.

(But racists get police protection, even though they had no written contract with City of Boston.)

After more than an hour of shouting, “free speech” rally participants left Government Center surrounded by police and reconvened at the Bunker Hill Monument.
