Questions about editing existing stories

There is a character limit for the titles of stories.

Submitting an edit to an already published story requires you to add "- EDITED" to the end of the title of your story.

I've run into a situation where these two things are at odds. Any ideas as to how I should go about submitting an edit to this story with the long title? Are we allowed to edit the titles of pieces?

If you can't fit the word edit after the title then put a note in the notes field under the box you paste the story and tell Laurel its an edit.

Is title editing allowed or are those set in stone in the database once published? I'd like to edit out the chapter titles from the story titles and replace them with "Ch. 01", "Ch. 02", etc.

I'd suggest adding the Ch 1 etc to the end of the title and putting edit in the notes as well as mentioning you'd like to make them a series.
