While we're on the subject of "Firefly."

Here's the Firefly-Serenity Chinese Pinyinary, a site which translates, phrase-by-phrase, every bit of Chinese from The 'Verse into Pinyin, a browser-friendly way to represent Mandarin in English characters: http://fireflychinese.kevinsullivansite.net/index.html (The Mandarin translator from the show actually helped with some of the translations, which is awesome.)

And here's another site, an almost dictionary-length list of words in English coupled with their translations into Pinyin. Perfect for cutting and pasting when you want to wedge a little Chinese into your dialogue.

All you really need to know is the following:

1) There story will take place in a relatively small portion of a galaxy.
2) There isn't 'faster-than-light' travel.
3) Big bad = "Alliance"
4) Good guys = Drifters and cargo thieves fighting for the rights of the poor.

Okay, there's actually a lot more to it than that.
