Not to be taken too seriously

I'm only getting a very small unreadable version, even when I click on it. But I can see it's from Oglaf, which shows excellent taste.

Edit: original strip is here.

That's weird, clicking on it for me brought me to the site. I wonder if it depends on the device used?

It takes me to some kind of porn image host and then redirects me to a porn site.

OP might be spamming.

Ah, I didn't pay much attention. I'm sure I've seen this somewhere before. Can't quite place it, though.

Clicking on the small (unreadable) version of the comic shown in the post on my laptop takes me to the original comic, which posts green (excellent) on my Web Of Trust (WOT) indicator. If you're getting redirected, you may have a virus and a BHO. Time to run your virus/malware checker(s).

That is a definite sign something is not quite right with the PC. Maybe not a virus but malware/spyware. I would recommend Malwarebytes and checking browser settings along with running AV. Some of those redirecters are annoyingly persistent.

I agree. It's also good to see that I am finally rubbing off on SW. :rolleyes:

Not sure what the OP meant by "panel." This comic strip is made up of 6 panels.

Not sure what everyone is talking about malware and such. I didn't have any problem opening up the comic strip and my computer is set to "hyper-paranoid."

I liked the art and humor of the comic so much, I did a reverse image lookup to a) see who the artist was and b) see if there were any more, and found the oldest reference that had a LOT of the same style comic art, but the problem is, it's all in French.

There was one that said Oglaf Lapin and Le Rabat-joie, but that translates (according to google) is something about "rabbit" and "The Killjoy".

It's highly unlikely that someone would go around identifying themself as an animal though so that can't be their name...
:rolleyes:

*averts my eyes so I don't see Yasashii kaze frotting on SW*

I posted a link to the original up above. The original is in English, written/drawn by a couple of Australians - you must have been looking at one of the translation sites.

Sorry, I'm running Chrome OS over here, so I highly doubt this. :V

Yeah, just mousing over it shows me a long URL from some "imagevenue.com" site. Not sure what that's about.

If you are being taken to some random porn site, you have redirecter for sure.
Imagevenue.com is correct link. I get the comic that is in thumbnail here, no porn.

I have images switched off by default in my forum settings, so I get a text link that says "http://img215.imagevenue.com/loc545/th_856177940_submission_123_545lo.jpg "

But the actual URL that it links to is:

http://img215.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=856177940_submission_123_545lo.jpg

Clicking the link takes me to the former (i.e. the thumbnail), not the URL it's trying to link to - not sure why it's doing that, possibly Firefox protecting against deceptive links that look like they're going to one place but actually go somewhere different.

If I paste in the URL directly, I get a warning from one of my anti-tracking addons:

Ghostery prevented a redirect from
iu16wmye.com to creatives.**********.com,
which is part of Adult Webmaster Empire.

Getting past the warning and looking directly at http://img215.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=856177940_submission_123_545lo.jpg it looks like it's just a full-sized .jpg of the comic. But if you view page source (Ctrl-U or similar depending on browser) there's a fair bit of ********** and cookies on the page as well, stuff like this:

<!-- Start Quantcast tag -->
<script type="text/**********" src="http://edge.quantserve.com/quant.js"></script>
<script type="text/**********">_qacct="p-78-9ZoeNPEQ9I";quantserve();</script>
<noscript>
<a href="http://www.quantcast.com/p-78-9ZoeNPEQ9I" target="_blank"><img src="http://pixel.quantserve.com/pixel/p-78-9ZoeNPEQ9I.gif" style="display: none" border="0" height="1" width="1" alt="Quantcast"/></a>
</noscript>
<!-- End Quantcast tag -->

I'm not a web programmer but I suspect the redirect warning is related to something in the ********** there - the image itself may be coming from imagevenue but it's also fetching content from elsewhere, which you may or may not notice depending on your setup.

(The *****ed bit is Java Script with the space taken out; Literotica is blocking that word, for good reason.)

Hm, I am just an amateur, but that does sound a bit odd.
Now you mentioned, I noticed some of my apps work on blocking *something* from that site too.
I scanned PC just to be sure and found no viruses/malware.

I only know I had a certain redirecter quite a while ago, it would randomly redirect to some unwanted site. Got installed with widely used program I downloaded from well known site. And it was a pita to remove.

Getting back to the point, thank you for sharing this little comic. It was hilarious and made me and my man laugh 😆 I'd like to think I'm not like that chick, at least I'm not blonde...
