We have tons of threads here on Lit for posting porn and erotic images and videos, and even a couple for erotic audio. But while I very much enjoy looking at erotic visuals, I also enjoy being mentally stimulated by the written word. Indeed, that’s why many of us are here, I’d suspect.

With that in mind, I’m starting an Intellectual Erotica thread. The intent is for people to post erotic quotes or quotes about erotica, or even the concept of Eros, passages from books or other works that turn you on, or images that contain some kind of text that is erotic or turns you on in some way (including erotic advertising). The only caveat to material posted here is that it must contain some text that, within the context of the photo, enhances or provides the eroticism or that reflects the construct of sexuality outside merely the scope of the image itself.

Do not post links to or verbiage from stories on Lit, please. There are other forums here for that kind of stuff.

Here are some examples of what I have in mind.

Audre Lorde said:
“We tend to think of the erotic as an easy, tantalizing sexual arousal. I speak of the erotic as the deepest life force, a force which moves us toward living in a fundamental way.”

Natalie Barney said:
"Most virtue is a demand for greater seduction."

Unknown said:
"Isn't the sound of the shutter while you masturbate exhilarating? It is for me. It's almost sensory overload. I can't do it often, it's just too much."

For you and for me the highest moment, the keenest joy, is not when our minds dominate but when we lose our minds...

Passion gives me moments of wholeness.

Ecstasy is the moment of exaltation from wholeness!

"The true man wants two things: danger and play. For that reason he wants woman, as the most dangerous plaything." -- Nietzsche

Thank you Dani

Great thread.

Discounting occasional large bossomed (racked? - oh hell - too agitated to spell) lady or hugely endowed man, the biggest organ we bring to the field of play is our brain. Bodies function without it, but not nearly to such pinnacles as when the brain has wholehearted -ly jumped the train.

Thanks for taking us down these tracks - I look forward to following them to that bright point on the horizon where they disappear from view.

GO!

You have started an interesting thread. I look forward to reading your thread and your stories.

Love the pic with the girl with "cum" in her mouth...Very Funny!

And I would enjoy "CASUAL SEX FRIDAY WITH YOU"

Wish my office had Casual Sex Day

Maybe we could start a trend?

Interestingly, I had a part time job during the summer when I was living at home, and had a FWB who worked there as well. We had random (though very sporadic) casual sex days.

From a chat session yesterday with my British friend Mark on the topic of "smut" ~

"todays smut is tomorrows literature - just think of Chaucer

Sex and violence - Beowulf

modernise Sharkespeare and Marlowe and you've got the same

It's just the way we are - and thousands of years of denial

life would be so boring if you lived puritan

remember that experiment in England - the civil war - the republic lasted, what, 14 years, before the monarchy was restored and back to the good old debauchery

Luckily they ended up coming here as 'pilgrims' "

Sex and beauty are inseparable, like life and consciousness. And the intelligence which goes with sex and beauty, and arises out of sex and beauty, is intuition. by David Herbert Lawrence
