I remember similar discussions about Gary Jules' "Mad World", Marilyn Manson's "Tainted Love", Soft Cell's "Tainted Love", etcetera etcetera.

I do love a good cover though. Even a bad cover, if we're honest. The other day I discovered a goth-fetish-metal cover of "Ballroom Blitz" and I won't rest until I've convinced somebody that it's the original.

I have written my cousin into stories. The very first Stones concert on a USA tour was in her hometown, San Bernardino CA aka San Boogaloo. She was underage, and high. She climbed a fence to crash the show. Photographs in national magazines showed her topless, riding on the shoulders of some shirtless guy. She was arrested. Her dad bailed her out. That set the pattern for her life. Moral: beware that early Stones music.

She's very complicated.

Writers are the worst. One of the filthiest nights I ever enjoyed was after a publication party :D
