Chat - authentication failure

I am attempting to enter Live Chat and receiving an authentication failure. Can you tell me why?

If you have changed your password recently (or even not recently, in some cases) it will lock you out of the chat. It takes time for the passwords to sync between the two portions of the site. Try using your old password to log in, and see if that works.

Otherwise, clear your cache, cookies, restart your browser, and try again.

Also try a different browser, or another device all together.
 
Same Authentication Problem

The live chat says "Authentication Failure" on different devices, browsers, etc. even after clearing cache. Either I'm banned or something's wrong with the site. A new registration didn't work either (same result).

You're not banned as far as I can tell. But connection problems between you and the site may be causing issues. Hundreds, if not thousands, of other people can log in and chat just fine.
