There's some possibility in my own mind that people are fucking far less motivated by actual sex than they often pretend - because I regard the WIDESPREAD decline in clever, hot, erotic movies and writing EVERYWHERE... ...well, I put it down to the bullshit artists in the 'agenda' community, who have turned every fucking thing into a political commentary or virtual sledgehammer MESSAGE.

...It's clear to me, even though it undoubtedly will not be to a number of others whose names readily spring to mind - that fucking far too many un-fucking fucking people, are obsessed by politics and self-involved political bullshit and self-righteous claptrap sloganeering.

And they are all spending too much time in that arena instead of concentrating on making others cum. Which is their job as human fucking beings.

This has been Paul Fucking Romano, definitely reporting from the Aparkalips (he says it that way, but I think he means 'oh pucker yer lips'), have a blessed day, a-a-nd, be grateful. Peace out. (...Styx).

And fuck U 2 (that was for the Christian vote; who think Bono is a minor Underworld entity).

'OMG, Satan's coming out of the Baphomet.' (That was just for me 'cuz I thought it was an awfully funny line about Kenny in a SP episode.)

I do think that people need to fuck more and bitch less. In fact I think that the angry people in life are usually sexually frustrated. Of course the angry people make the fuckers upset too so it can be a circle. So lets all do our part and fuck more.

No, I get it. There IS a decline in clever, hot, erotic movies and writing. When was the last time you saw an Erotic Thriller or Raunchy Teen Comedy at the box office? When was the last time you stayed up late to watch Skin-a-max or After Dark pay cable?

Unlike OP, I don't think the reason is political though. I think it's simple supply and demand. The easy availability of hardcore porn has killed the market for well written softcore porn. This is just speculation, but I would bet a lot of people who watched Red Shoe Diaries or Nine and a Half Weeks or Porky's 2 would have rather watched real porn - they just didn't have easy access to it.

Compared to hardcore internet porn, it is expensive to create high quality softcore. You have to pay a real guild writer, and real SAG actors who want residuals and health insurance. You need production values and extras and craft services. I suspect that the reason there are no more clever, hot, erotic movies is because there's no audience to support the cost of them.

Now novels, short stories, and other writing, that's another matter. I don't have a theory for that.
 
I didn’t know Donald Trump was s member of this site? But, in retrospect, I should have realised because no one knows more about reading or writing erotic stories than he does.

I grew up in the 70s and remember them well, and I have to say that with the passage of time they look better and better to me. Even disco sounds a lot better to me now than it did then. The clothes and hair styles were horrible, but there were many things that in retrospect look good to me. It was a great era for movies, and punk and heavy metal music.
 
I was busy closing down (Phnom Penh, Saigon) offices and clinging to another one we were told could close down at any time (Bangkok). I was definitely awake.

Yeah, but were you in the adult party world at that time. It was sex, drugs, and rock and roll, much like the late 60's only more hidden, more like the early 60's. Where it had been hallucinogenics earlier, it was now pot and cocaine.

It also had a lot to do with where in the country you were.

Nope. I was too young for that. In retrospect, it was a good time to grow up in many ways. Better in some ways than today.
