I was wondering what the general feeling is about "Inverted Nipples" - you never really see them in porn films which means they are quite rare or guys just don't like them. My wife hates them but there doesn't seem to be anything you can do to sort them out. Does anyone know anything about this?

The very first girl I ever slept with (a year or two back, that would be ;)) had inverted nipples but she is the only one I've come across, though I've seen it said that between 10-20 per cent of women have them to some degree. My girlfriend's could be coaxed out but reverted afterwards. She wasn't bothered about them and I found them absolutely delightful, plus it gave me even more reason to nibble and play with her breasts, not that I really needed excuses. I managed to keep them out quite a lot of the time by repeated attention. You may find it better if she doesn't wear a bra so that you have ready access to them at all times.

Try to persuade her that there really is nothing to hate about them unless they're causing her pain.

I understood that surgery is possible but is only recommended in the most severe cases as it usually results in breast-feeding becoming an impossibility.

There is no thing as normal nipples or anything else - only what the media would have us believe. Who's going to see anyway ( apart from us lot ) ? If you get as far as seeing a woman's nipples you're already on a roll and it's no time to say Eeeew! I think they look just fine :)
 
Inverted nipples are fairly rare, but don't generally cause any problems except possibly with breastfeeding, or if someone has a desperate desire to get their nipples pierced. Pregnancy hormones tend to cause a small amount of breast growth and make nipples permanently a bit stiffer, so a pregnancy would probably affect inverted nipples in some way, possibly having a "normalizing" effect. Weight gain could also have an effect, but older women are less likely to gain weight in their breasts than those in their teens or early twenties.

My own nipples used to lay flat a lot before I was around 20 or 21, but they stopped doing that around the time my figure completely finished developing, probably due to some hormonal shift.

Inverted penises are also a thing, btw.

Looks like there are variations. The woman I was with who had inverted nipples were totally inverted...as in sunk in, dips, holes...no way were they being coaxed out. We had a great time.
 
One of my best friends has inverted nipples. She showed them to me once. I thought they were really cute!

You didn't say whether or not you wife has ever been pregnant or breast fed. Sometimes pregnancy and breast feeding will correct inverted nipples, but not always. If she is concerned about them, you might have her contact a lactation specialist. Also, inducing lactation and adult breast feeding may help. Extended breast feeding can stretch the nipples and make them grow larger, but as I said, it doesn't always work. Every woman is different.
 
My first serious girlfriend had the opposite problem with her bellybutton, it was a "outie" she was very sensitive about it..took a lot of work to convice I found the novelty of it fun, and her vulnerability about it was sexy.

So I tend to like things like this...

There are whole legions of fans of 'puffies" for example (I know wrong direction so that analogy might do more harm then good) I would not be at all surprised if there are fans specifically of this...I like the idea of working for it a bit to get to the sensitive bits...

The vulnerability she fills if not overwhelmingly debilitating, is cute to me..but that also is probably of little help.

Its tough when people have body part specific issues and they are always overblown.

That's an interesting point. She didn't breastfeed because she was convinced it would make her breasts go saggy after she'd stopped.
I wonder if the trade off of saggier breasts would have been worth the protruding nipples

Actually saggier breasts and protruding nipples are my ideals.

There are other threads on making nipples stand out using snakebite kits and such. I wonder if those would be useful in this case.

A friend of mine had an inverted nipple. She was extremely self conscious about it, even considering surgery to "repair" it. It was only a group of us reassuring her that it was perfectly normal, and sexy, that stopped her from doing it.

Mine are fully deeply inverted. Pregnancy, twice made no.difference. I dont see why it would. I think it just gives more area to play with.
