President Trump Orders the Execution of Five Turkeys Pardoned by

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In another sweeping move aimed at undoing the perceived damage done by the Obama administration, President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order on Sunday directing the Department of Justice to revoke all sixteen Thanksgiving Day turkey pardons issued by the former president during his eight years in office.

“After reviewing the decisions made by the previous administration, President Trump has determined that a number of turkey pardons issued by Barack Obama were done so in a manner that was both deceitful and hazardous to the American people,” White House Press Secretary Sara Sanders announced on Tuesday. “This morning, the president once again used his executive powers to see to it that justice is served and that the surviving creatures will be destroyed.”
 
I don't believe a successor pres. can do that but, if he can, Trump did the right thing. Turkeys are fowl creatures anyhow, and not deserving of mercy. :rolleyes:
 
At this rate, soon there will only be one turkey left in Washington DC.

A bit of gerrymandering and disenfranchisement will need undoing before that can happen. The game IS rigged, y'know, in states not apportioned by nonpartisan panels, and that don't promote basic voting rights for all citizens.

Ah, the big birds. Turkeys hop onto a (federal or state) capitol merry-go-round. Once aboard, they rarely hop off and are removed only by death, scandal, or failed fundraising. They shit and shed feathers and parasites, and cackle and gobble incessantly, and they're not very entertaining to watch or hear. Sad.
 
The sad part is that it's believable. Trump is petty enough to do just that, just look at his tweets over the past few days. The man has mental issues much like the faggot O.P

Every state has two senators and the number of congress critters for each state is determined by the population of the state, except that all states are guaranteed at least one. The electoral college cannot be gerrymandered

Eligible voters can be and are disenfranchised and suppressed to distort the 'popular' vote. And states need not heed that vote but can choose electors any fucking way they want; see USC Article II: "Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors..." A state may indeed allocate electors based on politically gerrymandered districts if the Legislature so directs.

That's the game; them's the rules. Read-em and weep.

I'm aware of those rules, but the total number of electors for each state is set by federal law and no state that I know of has ever done anything but instruct their electors to cast all ballots for the same candidate. There have been what are called "faithless electors" who have voted other than as instructed, but these have never amounted to enough to make a difference.

If I had my druthers, I would druther see Ca's electors vote in accordance with the vote in their Cong. district, but Dems would never allow that to be the policy.
