Justice for Trayvon??

When is the last time you heard of a cop killing a 17 year old because he feared for his own life?

its getting fucking out of hand

MSNBC Guest: Black Men In Jail Because Of “Racist Criminal Justice System, Racist Law Enforcement, Racist Education System, Racist Health Care System”…

Oh, and “white supremacy.”

Via RCP:

KING: The high incarceration rates are really just another example and symptom of institutional racism and white supremacy. The reason you’re seeing so many young black men in jail now is the confluence of racist criminal justice system, racist law enforcement, racist education system, racist health care system, and these things are racist and classist, and the two are intertwined. So, I feel like the reason that you’re seeing those high incarceration rates besides the draconian drug laws are just a confluence of, the confluence of white supremacy really.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Do you think that police officers do stop-and-frisk or any other kind of exercise in order to capture young men on drug charges?

KING: I think that they do it, the police do stop-and-frisk I think to get them in the system and to really to infect our minds and to make us believe that that’s where we belong and that this is the way we should be treated.

Actually it's just an indicator of the high black crime rate.

Why is the incarceration rate for crack ten times what it is for powdered coke?

Probation Violation. Hookas and Niggaz caught wiff crack is usually on probation. Jeb Bush's daughter Noelle was on probation when she was caught with crack but just got more probation, actually that's a lie, nuthin happened, so there! Everbody caught with crack don't go to jail!

A NEIGHBORHOOD IN FEAR

By the summer of 2011, Twin Lakes was experiencing a rash of burglaries and break-ins. Previously a family-friendly, first-time homeowner community, it was devastated by the recession that hit the Florida housing market, and transient renters began to occupy some of the 263 town houses in the complex. Vandalism and occasional drug activity were reported, and home values plunged. One resident who bought his home in 2006 for $250,000 said it was worth $80,000 today.

At least eight burglaries were reported within Twin Lakes in the 14 months prior to the Trayvon Martin shooting, according to the Sanford Police Department. Yet in a series of interviews, Twin Lakes residents said dozens of reports of attempted break-ins and would-be burglars casing homes had created an atmosphere of growing fear in the neighborhood.

In several of the incidents, witnesses identified the suspects to police as young black men. Twin Lakes is about 50 percent white, with an African-American and Hispanic population of about 20 percent each, roughly similar to the surrounding city of Sanford, according to U.S. Census data.
Bush's fault.

Ignoring the fact that until recently sentencing laws demanded it, we can focus on the fact that crack cocaine is more associated with violent crime. That and Powder cocaine was never an epidemic that turned inner city in to war zones.

Coke whores blow rich dudes in strip clubs
Crack whores sell their babies.

There is a difference.

Sean just needs to look up out of the gutter more often.

A lot staying out of jail depends on much you got and who you know.

You may want to check into the crime stats from Southern Florida, specifically Miami, from 1979 to about 1984.

Just sayin'

Why is the incarceration rate for crack ten times what it is for powdered coke?

Crack is more addictive and more dangerous. Are you actually claiming there are ten times as many people in prison just for using crack as there are just for using powder cocaine?
