Yes the poison pill put in the must pass omnibus bill by republican senators Gramm, Leach and Bliley. However that is not and will not be on republican radar. Their idea of financial "reform" is to repeal Frank Dodd and to let the rest remain as it is with further possible deregulation.

China pollutes more than the US, the EU and Russia combined. They have been a major problem on copyrights, trade, and currency devaluations. You will have to see a larger scope dynamic to see how the current moves go towards that.

Social security is too large a subject. Probably the largest problem the US has. They must agree on the formulas to calculate if it will go bankrupt or not in the 2030's before anyone attempts a change. This is a revolution triggering subject, many people feeling cheated.

Lowering taxes on business is not the same as lowering on high income earners. Yes, lowering it on businesses increases investment which stimulates the economy.

There's only one real major tax burden the US businesses - especially smaller ones - struggle with. And they'll never be touched. Payroll taxes. They are the sacred cow. Even if they do manage to privatize social security, don't be surprised if they find a way to claim that money for something else.

With the loopholes and current tax laws, the US has one of the lowest effective business income taxes in the developed world.
